I just bought the Nautilus 73 a few days ago. Until now, I had Yamaha MODX8 and Roland Fantom 7 under my hands. Now I bought the Nautilus next to the Fantom 7. There used to be Korg Triton Extreme, but since then Korg has become completely different. This is exactly what I was stuck with yesterday. I bought 5 libraries from the Korg Shop. I installed them, then when I turned on Nautilus, it said that there is not enough space on the disk.(Preload.PCG) I found it strange, because in principle there is a 60GB SSD. I found it strange that there was so little space left on Nautilus. I think the Nautilus system startup and other things are involved, but I didn't think that the final solution is to delete a couple of unused directories from the factory set. I never thought that a couple of EXs would have to be deleted from the factory content in order to install new libraries.
@JuliusDeBerryJr Жыл бұрын
These libraries are larger than you think. And are you sure it said on disk and not RAM?
@yamahamotifxs Жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr I'm not a technical genius, this SSD system on synthesizer is new to me. I don't know how this works. My assumption was that the entire Preload.PCG is uploaded to the RAM for some reason, although I think 3Gb of RAM is not enough for the EXs libraries, so I assumed that the Preload PCG content is loaded from the SSD. I thought that RAM was only important if I wanted to upload a specific directory to Nautilus, then listen to its contents to see if I liked it or not, and then copy it to the SSD. I know that the Yamaha Motif XF was different, but it had 128mb of RAM, I had to load the libraries there, and then if I wanted to, I selected my favorite sounds and installed them on the FLASH memory. I know the Motif XF was different in that it had Flash memory, not SSD, but the RAM on the Motif XF was only used to load the library for testing. If 128mb was not enough, it had to be uploaded to the FLASH memory immediately. I assume that most Korg libraries are roughly 1 and 1.5Gb so that they can be comfortably uploaded to the 3GB RAM and saved from there to the SSD. Does load from the SSD to the RAM when you turn it on, or can you avoid this by loading it directly from the SSD? Stupid question, but I bought the Nautilus 3 days ago, so I have no idea how to handle it.

I’ve tried the “Load Required Samples” suggestion, but the “samples missing” warning remains at the top of the program. Just wondering if you would have any suggestions. Also, is there a “factory reset” procedure for the Nautilus? I’ve got nothing valuable saved yet, so a factory reset wouldn’t hurt, if necessary. Thanks for your videos, Julius! I’m a big fan.

Hello just joined my question on the Nautilus how do you save sequencer recording without saving all the preloaded songs
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
First you'd need to delete the preloaded songs. Have you done that ? After you delete them, it would make way for a "new" save file...
@ramb250002 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr thanks , no I did not delete them; once they are deleted are they gone for good or can you recall them if you need to
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% positive but am almost sure that they can be recalled from factory content. But to be sure, the best thing to do would be to go ahead and save a song file with those preload demo songs (and even a full .PCG file).... So you have them JUST IN CASE. You can store that file somewhere safely and then move forward with no worries.

@xp50player2 жыл бұрын
There’s no ROM in the keyboard. Korg calls their preset EXS banks “ROM” but that is more of a tradition from way back. You can unload all preset samples from the keyboard, which you couldn’t do if any of them were stored on actual ROM chips.
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
Sorry sir. But that is incorrect. If you click the link that I posted below, and scroll down to where it says "synthesis types", you will see that the HD-1 engine is based off of PCM samples. Then if you scroll a little farther, you will see that the present PCM is made up of 314 MB of sample data. The ROM includes 1,505 multisamples and 1388 drum samples. And to confirm that I just unloaded all EXS samples from from Kronos and there are still ROM samples loaded that play sounds within the HD-1 engine. As I stated, you can not remove the ROM. Thanks! www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/kronos2/page_2.php
@xp50player2 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr ROM is a type of chip, not a sound. It looks like the “ROM” sounds are separately preloaded into reserved RAM, like the operating system. They are found on the SSD right? They wouldn’t be if they were on a ROM chip.
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
Nope I don't think they are on the SSD. Argue with Korg lol. Is says ROM on their site. You gonna tell them that it's not ROM? And it's RAM? Do you have a Kronos? If not, I can do a KZbin live and show you what I'm talking about? 👀 Romplers are a "type" of keyboard and it has always pertained to where/how the sound's samples are stored. The Kronos has an internal ROM and the HD-1 engine uses it. (Not it alone... Because you can use the loaded samples as well.) It's going to be hard to argue with the info they have listed on their site... But I could be wrong. 🤷🏾♂️ But I do want to know where you got your info from?😊
@JuliusDeBerryJr2 жыл бұрын
I'll also say this... If you got back to the m3 it was the same. They had a ROM and they had samples that could be loaded at boot. But the board still had sounds even if you didn't load the extra libraries.... (M3 xpanded)
@ablesam2 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr The 'ROM' sounds are the factory KSCs. They cant be removed or edited from the physical storage (SSD in this case). They can be removed from the RAM just as you showed. But they are read/write protected from the user. ROM chips are Read Only Memory. Meaning the manufacturer has put in data that cannot be changed. Now thanks to NAND flash becoming cheaper, we can use higher amounts of memory in our keyboards. The internal 'ROM' are whatever you saw when you opened up the Preload folder. They are not actual ROM chips (rather the SSD), but Korg uses this term because we cannot edit or manipulate this preset data.
