I finally figured out how to fully connect the Nautilus with Cubase! Users need to forget about using the Nautilus Editor software. That's not going to get it done. It's just like you explain in this video, Julius. The Nautilus has to be setup as the Audio Interface. As you mention, in Global setting > Audio, assign USB 1 and 2 to L/R. You can connect your headphones into the Nautilus or use the standard outputs to hear audio coming from the DAW. Disable "Local control on" in the midi menu (as explained in this video). Now, add a Midi track. Use "All Midi Inputs" and "NAUTILUS SOUND" as the output. Make sure the midi channel is either set to any or 1. While this track is enabled you should be able to hear your Nautilus. You are now ready to record in midi. When you play it back, the Nautilus sounds will be audible. Very important to know, you cannot export the midi to audio like a standard VST. If you try, you'll get an empty track. You'll have to add an audio track and record the audio from the Nautilus in real time. You'll have to Solo the Midi track so you don't bounce all the audio from the other tracks. And that's it. It look me over 12 hours to get this all worked out but now I can use Nautilus sounds, have the control of using midi, and it all goes through a single USB cable. Amazing. I hope this helps someone else that is breaking their head over this. Thanks for the video, Julius!

Thanks. I used this idea to also connect iPhone or IPad to use for backing tracks live. In global you just click on the analog inputs you mentioned and set to L and R outputs. I’m just using one cable that has lightning on one end and the 2 1/4 inputs on the other side

I want to record via USB to a Daw (on iOS), that is providing a metronome click. My headphones are connected to the Nautilus. In order to hear the metronome I set Bus select for USB 1 & 2 to L/R. Now I can hear the click on my Nautilus, but it also sends it to the USB output and it gets recorded. How do I turn loopback off? Help would be appreciated!

@user-vk5li6kj9k just don't enable any plugins. Arm the recording process on a track then record the Nautilus on that track. .. if you need more help than that, we may need to set up a one on one virtual meeting. It's a pretty specific issue.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr thanks for the quick reply. I’ve been back and fourth with Korg customer support and I’m stuck. I was under the impression that I could use the Korg Nautilus editor as a VST. They said that is possible and that Cubase should get audio via the USB. But I see midi signal in the nautilus editor but no audio. Any suggestions? Or really any way I could use Nautilus sounds in my DAW without using audio cables. Thanks!

@olivertorres7452 Korg wasn't able to help? We can set up a one on one session if you need to. But the Nautilus should show up as an audio device in your computer. Then you just select it was the audio device just like you would from an audio interface. Have you done that?

@@JuliusDeBerryJr Korg wasn’t very helpful, unfortunately. I see that Yamaha Montage can do it according to videos on KZbin, and in 2024 I’m not sure why all new Keyboards can’t do it. I’ve search the whole internet and no one has content dedicated to it. Man, if you’d be willing to jump on a 1-on-1 that would be awesome. I’d pay to get this worked out haha.

@olivertorres7452 yeah we can set up a 1 on 1. I do them all them time. Email me and we can get it set up. Korg didn't know how to get audio to pass over USB? I hope I'm not wrong. Seems like it would be possible. But if they can't figure it out, then maybe I'm wrong.

@Julius DeBerry, I'm trying to figure out the best way to play wav file songs stored on a USB flash drive. Without taking up more internal HDD, I see that if I have a program saved to my set list (organ for example) then I would just go to the USB drive which is a few clicks (keep in mind this is for a live performance). The problem is I can't seem to access VOL on both that organ patch & the Wav song I'm playing on top of saved on that flash drive. Anyway suggestions on what would be easier? Of course, saving the WAV File to the seq is an option I guess, but I'm thinking this starts eating up memory. I can't believe there's not a video from Korg on that.

I wouldn't think that Playing wave files from a USB stick isn't really a common occurrence thing. ... Your best best would be to play the file from somewhere else vs a USB stick connected to the Nautilus. Even connected an external device to the keyboard audio input would be much easier to deal with.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr At this point, I have about 12 tracks I use via USB thumb drive that's working for me. It's 2 clicks basically. (the patch from the set list for the song & then USB drive. I bought some backing tracks which was a nice break from sequencing. You have to remember, I was the floppy disc king with that ASR-10 up through last Dec, so I'm used to prepping for the next song! HA! I will look into other (easier) ways that you mentioned. Thx

Hello. I have a Nautilus and my question is whether it is possible to connect another keyboard using the USB port. I would like to connect some keyboards. One through the normal audio input and the second through the USB input using a USB cable and two P10 connectors. Is the USB input only for connecting to the PC or is it possible to connect a keyboard through it? Sorry for my English, I'm from Brazil and I would like to know about this. Regards!

I believe the Kronos had the ability to use USB compliant midi keyboards. (I am almost sure, but not positive). I never tried it with the Nautilus.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr Thanks for replying. I don't know if I made myself understood. I want to use the USB input as another audio input source. This way I can use different Nautilus effects on each keyboard. My intention is to put the three keyboards in midi, with Nautilus as the master, and listen to the 3 keyboards using the headphones connected to the Nautilus and thus be able to listen to the keyboards at the same time and taking advantage of the Nautilus effects on the other two keyboards .

@@estudiosrevo3280 Your computer should recognize your Nautilus as a MIDI device. Beyond that I think you’ve got it backwards. Julius is demonstrating how to have sounds from your computer routed to your Nautilus. I think you’re expecting to be able to record the output of the Nautilus in Pro Tools. You’re better off using a VST directly if you want to leverage whatever sample libraries you have in a live situation.
