What a great way of auditioning sounds with the Daw Audio output and the Korg arsenal in the headphones at the same time. Got the mp3 of an old track called Heartbreaker by a british band called the Strawbs, which I have worked out the keys for. Played on whatever was around in 1976, should soon work out a Korg starting point. Julius, you're a star

Very Cool man! I just bought the Nautilus and need to dump my old Ensoniq ASR10 sequences to the Korg for my "Live" gig situation. This is the 1st video I've seen to help get me started. I think all I have to do is just got 1/4 out of the ASR-10 to 1/4 inch audio in to the Nautilus and just select and hit record. I hope so anyway, but I just subscribed & will be checking out your other tutorials. THX
@JuliusDeBerryJr
@JuliusDeBerryJr 2 жыл бұрын
You are going to sample to sequences? Like the actual audio?👀🧐. If so, it must just be a couple of songs? If not, that could get huge (seems like) as far as files and sample size.
@botronicmusic
@botronicmusic 2 жыл бұрын
@@JuliusDeBerryJr Well, I had plan to record the sequences from my other board. Not sample, but record that into audio. 30 songs or so. I was told I could do this without researching myself. YIKES. I've got till next wed to take the board back if the memory can't handle it. Thanks for your reply! Going to dive into this weekend so I'll know soon enough.
@JuliusDeBerryJr
@JuliusDeBerryJr 2 жыл бұрын
Well not saying the memory can't handle it. Just wanting you to know what you are getting into. And yes recording the audio into the sequencer is basically the same process as sampling. Something that you could consider is saving the midi files from the old board and then just having to replace sounds on the Nautilus to match up with the old sequences... Does that make sense?

@@JuliusDeBerryJr Right on! I realize I have my work cut out for me not expecting for this to be an easy task. Just something I have to do & trying to make it as pain-less as possible! 😆 An example with one of those tracks is Superstitious. Will reocrd my old great to the The Nautilus leaving out the Clav... It has a GREAT Stevie sound for that. I didn't realize how much mid's were in that sound. I added just a little bass with the EQ. The board seems VERY cool! Do you own a Nautilus yourselves?

Another great video demistyfying the Nautilus. I've looked through your playlist but couldn't find anything on how to route usb audio from the Nautilus into a computer. This aspect of usb and synths/Daws is completley unknown to me and I can't find any videos that explain how it works or how to achieve it. I'm currently using the audio outs from nautilus into my interface but this seems overkil as I'm sending midi over usb to nautilus so why not send audio from nautilus over usb too and cut down on cables. Would love to see one of your great videos on that.
@JuliusDeBerryJr
@JuliusDeBerryJr 9 ай бұрын
Ok. I will consider that! I'll get it on the list. But I will say this, I feel like the way you have it set up currently, is the best way. If you have an interface and have the inputs available, it's best to use those. The USB works and works well, but sometimes you can experience some double audio issues from the Nautilus audio coming back from the computer through the keyboard. There are work arounds for it and ways to eliminate the problem, but I've still heard it come up a bit (across Kronos and Nautilus). I'd use it as an interface only if necessary. It's a great option to have but not my first choice for connecting. It's also only 2 channels, LR. If you want to use the additional outputs, the interface and analog outs are the best way. Hope that makes sense.

Is it just me, or there is an issue with the audio of this video? I'm considering Nautilus, and the lack of onboard controls is an issue, so this video looks very interesting.,

Some people have reported it from laptops or phones. I can't remember... With some of the older videos. Try from a different medium. Like if you are on a phone try a laptop/computer or tablet.... And vice versa. This only happened a few times on older videos. Couldn't pinpoint it. But the issue is gone now (in videos since this time frame). Someone one mentioned using headphones with it plugged in halfway. I'm not sure what it was. Most of the people who complained were in other countries though. I hope you enjoy them!!!

Hello Julius. Thanks for your videos. Really interesting. However, I have a comment/request to you, as a user of winPC (instead of MAC). When installing the Korg Midi-USB drivers, I am able to connect and use Midi by PC applications (e.g. DAW's). However, when talking about audio, PC recognizes only the headphone as output (and the same applies to every PC application which is relying on the Windows devices). This implies that I cannot select either audio inputs on Nautilus (e.g. to record a guitar or voice) or audio output to route all audio signal through the Nautilus. Do you have any advise on how to solve this issue (maybe I am missing some steps when installing device drivers on PC). Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

BTW...I found out late in the game but it needs to be said that the Nautilus does NOT have ASIO drivers. Many of us whom have been recording with different syth through the years are used to using these drivers NOT USB drivers. That why windows sees it (Nautilus Headphones) but your DAW will not.

Hey man this is like so important video. I have some query. 1/i want to use suppose any VST from computer. And it's connected to the Nautilus by Usb....Is it that the sound card of the Nautilus is used here if I select the option Nautilus hardware(input/output). I use Fl Studio. 2/ how can we rec Nautilus inbuilt sound in computer. Do we definitely need a Separate sound card? Or it can be done by usb... Please make a video or reply here. Thanks
@JuliusDeBerryJr
@JuliusDeBerryJr 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ronel Gogoi! Thanks for watching my video. Yes in your first question the Nautilus is the sound card. And you would select it for in/out of that's the way you want everything routed. But your computer audio would be sent to the Nautilus. This means you'd need to connect your speakers/headphones to the Nautilus. The way you mentioned, the Nautilus would be the interface for your computer. (If I'm understanding you correctly) 2) the Nautilus audio can be sent to the computer via USB. When your computer recognizes the Nautilus it will ask you if you want to use it as an interface (at least mine does). If you select yes, then the audio from the Nautilus should come up on channel 1/2 in your computer. Do you already have an interface (outside of the Nautilus)? If so, it may be easier to setup and quite a bit more versatile if you connect the outputs from the Nautilus to the inputs on the other interface and get the audio into the computer like that. You could still use the Nautilus to control the vst inside your computer. Hope this helps. I may still do a video concerning this. Please subscribe and hit the notification bell so you can be notified when it is available. Thanks.

@@JuliusDeBerryJr yes, it is step by step. I made the leap from M50 to Nautilus just last month and it is a shock. I have three albums worth of music, all praise to God's name, all on midi that i wrote using logic pro since I cannot play the piano to save my life. I thought I'd buy a Nautilus, re-record everything using the fabulous nine sound engines, and here Nautilus does not import MIDI just like the M50.
