Great video. I know the push now is to the Genos 2 but having been able to try both, I prefer the Korg. Lot of great sounds and feature on the Genos 2 but I just could not get past what was to me, a really cheap feel to the keyboard. The sounds out of the box seem better on the Genos 2 but with tweaking the Korg can match in most categories. The guitar sounds on the Genos 2 are some of the best I have heard. Both are great!

Hi Leigh. Despite some of the misgivings about missing functions in the OS I certainly can't fault the fidelity of the sounds. I thought the Strings section was phenomenal. Personally for me the best I've ever heard on any Arranger. A really comprehensive Demo of sounds and some of the Styles. Well done Leigh. Always enjoy your Demonstrations.

I had a PA4X and really liked it, but was never able to get around some of the features. Like making your own styles, and the sequencer. Drove me NUTS! But now, with the new lay out, it looks like those issues are a thing of the past. I'm buying the 76 version. The Fatar keybed is SO GREAT, it really allows you to play organ swipes and piano runs with ease.

apart from great sounds and styles biggest step forward in my opinion is user interface - much simpler user friendly and intuitive compare to older versions of PA. its great sounding out of the box without digging in menus for customization's like it was in the past.. and with that is real Genos killer which played great out of the box

Other than that, it was one awesomely fantastic video.. and here I am planning on at some point getting a Yamaha PSR-SX900, and at another point acquiring a pedal steel guitar to go along with it.... IMO, Yamaha psr. tyros, genos series styles are more powerfull and detailed , especially the drum kits. . The Korg case looks like better/stronger/stunner

Try them in a live scenario, Yamaha sounds 'too' perfect for a drummer. The Korg has a bit of the sloppiness and swing in their styles which make it more real than any Yamaha. Also, drum tweaking is better on the Korg, easily makes them more real and powerful than Yamaha.

too much reverb and delay on brass and trumpets ...orchestra... The PA5X does not have KAOSS function and you cannot convert midi file in to a style that you could do in the PA4X.

I have a PA-800. I wanted the PA4X, but I am drooling over this in all the demos and tutorials I've seen so far. What an amazing instrument. The funny thing is, this is only $100 USD more than the PA4X-76 Oriental. Amazing deal, and it's STILL less than the Genos!

@@Ahmad-vw5uw I think the Genos is more ready to play live, with songs that are already dripping with effects. That's not a bad thing if you're playing a gig. The Korg, to me, sounds more like an acoustic instrument 'in the raw.' That means processing to get a record ready sound, but it also allows you to tailor it to what you want. Of course, I'm talking the samples, even before onboard processing.

More like they made the PA4X usable and allowed us to full access its power. The PA4X was already more powerful/capable than the Genos. It was limited by the UI, hardware and menu layout. So Korg fixed all of that with the PA5X.

There is a Guitar selection that you made and I could almost hear Classical Jazz. It would have been so cool had you played that from your repertoire. With you using F as your Dhrone it was quite realistic and better than Yamaha for the bagpipes.

The sounds and interface is really great, but the styles still sound plastic to me. Beeing a rock-folk-country-blues composer, I would only use 10% of the onboard styles.....the other 90% would never be used.... In my humble opinion Korg needs to make at least two versions.... One for entertainers, and one for rock musicians. This is a fast, intuitive composing tool for the home Studio, and the sounds are top notch, but as a Rock musician, I need a far more focused set of styles... With the selection of styles placed in an ram area, and a large selection of choice from Korg, this could be the best recording Tool for Rock musicians... 🤔

I'm a Pop/rock musician and only use about 1% of the styles on my Yamaha and Ketron arrangers. I can't imagine using any of the Rock styles myself. For recording, you may be better off using Logic Pro or GarageBand drummer. Colin Cross (the Band Guide) has a couple tutorials on KZbin that may be helpful to you.

Korg Pa5x at this time is a failure. Dont buy it unless Korg resolves milions of Buggs. You cant use Korg Pa4x Set in Pa5x. It requires converting entire set it takes average 3hrs and another 25 min to load. Korg is misleading us with RAM its only 2gigs, you can find false info that is 4gig and compressed 8gigs this is False. Entire OS is changed. There is major issues freezing on Variations. There is No Copy style options or Quantize, Velocity etc. Very very hard to accomplish anything. I am returning mine tomorrow

I’ve owned a Korg pa4x for years, use it at my gigs. It looks like Korg took away the ec5 foot switch option???? I sure hope not! I use the ec5 to control the drums and fills in real time at ALL my gigs! Is there another option for control of stops, start, fills, a b c d sections with a foot switch of any kind? Man, I sure hope so, or I can’t buy this amazing new PA5!
