Also 16 track midi sequencer Korg calls it song has really outstanding sound and then you just play over the top of the sections that you put markers with but I noticed the sound
@mdmusiz4 ай бұрын
The export to midi file from KORG with many markers, that is the bug of the OS. if you look the file, there are many duplicate parts, however in order to create a "good style" you have to create at least 3 variations of each sections (intro, var, ending, break, fills ...) with Major, Minor and 7th. It is very complicated process and most of arranger-users don't have that kind of knowledge of sequencer, daw, midi mapping, midi message ...
@jonmicheals6214 ай бұрын
@mdmusiz Exactly. To create a Midi file from scratch to work as a Style would be a large task. But, if there was a way to figure out the marker letters/numbers of the intros, variations, fills, break, and endings. I think you could export a Midi file from a Style, edit it and then import it back to the Style. It would still be easy to edit the Style in the Pa5x. 👍🎹👍

Thanks for your video First of all the reason you get all midi trucks 1-16 when you export a certain style is cuz in the midi in section you have all trucks selected as on you have to turn off midi in trucks from 1-8 this tells the keyboard that your not using trucks 1-8 so when you export that style you want to edit the trucks 1-8 won’t be exported. Markers are there to tell the keyboard this part or length let’s say 1-4 bars are for variation one for example so you insert marker and you liable it as v1cv1 it has to be small letters you just told the keyboard from bar or length 1-4 are for variation 1 and then if you want to create variation 2 so now you have to insert a new marker v2cv1 by the way it depends on your DAW you have to create a maker truck in the same session of your style that your editing otherwise it might not work so now from bar 4-6 for example and you liable it v2cv1 so now you told the keyboard that this is for variation 2 and so on. It’s very imported to liable the markers as v1,v2,v3,v4 all with cv1 / for fills are liable it as f1 f2 f3 all with cv1 ok, so the keyboard recognizes that this midi file or song you created to use the lengths or bars as style otherwise it will not recognize the markers it will be a regular midi song so the markers and adding v1cv1 to them as I mentioned above it tells the keyboard which are variations and fills from this bar to this bar ok. As the volume or other sound effects of that particular style your exporting to edit of course it will change cuz you exporting midi information notes only not the entire style in order for you to have the same setting as the other style you exported you have to copy the style you want to edit and paste it into a new empty user style location and then once your done editing your style imported into the pasted new style location and it should sound the same considering there’s no issues with keyboard software. By the way this is done using user style location because the factory styles can’t be edited or changed. The same original location if you can than you don’t have to copy paste into a new location once your done editing that style you exported just go back to style record edit and use the same style and then import the edited style into the original one and it should sound the same. . 😊 By the way CV means chords variation what dose that stands for is that you can assign and play certain chords to change the drums or bass or any instrument in the variation 1 for example without changing to variation 2 or using variation 2 to add drums parts I hope I explained myself as best possible I do that sometimes let say I setup CV2 in Var 1 on chord augmented for example to add special note in drums section or any truck that you want to play something else when you hold or play augmented chords you will see that the added part will play only when you play augmented chord and it will go back to CV1 when you play all other chords. 😊 good luck.. by the way it is very easy to create style from scratch if you know how to program a certain style beats and so on. This is why a special person with those skills is called an arranger 😊.

So to do the song Hey Bulldog Beatles Made the song from scratch on the pa5x sequencer I'm talking about the 16 trac sequencer Then after I was done getting it as good as I could I loaded it up on player one and then I pushed out a little the marker box upper right-hand corner of the song play went to the markers there were none because you have to make them so the Riff in the song in the verse I just put a marker right at the beginning of that and I could control that I just push the button to get it to repeat as many times as I need from the buttons outside on Deck that is after you save all this and give it a name and I put a couple of more for different parts like the chorus part where it starts ascending upwards which is so cool and you know you just do the song like what you hear on the recording so all the variations and all the pills are there you put them in when you do this and I like the idea that I can add as many verses I want or you can Loop them from the outside by the way you know that if you double click on the button outside on the deck it will go into Loop mode I haven't completely figured out Loop mode yet sort of I just started doing this like last night but I got like this is I used to do this in 1980 or so with a drum machine I don't know if I had the X3 Korg Workstation no it wasn't it was a Casio a little Casio Keyboard I think I still got it around you I kept it for just for because

@alanadee2514 Sounds like you have it under control. But for me, in my studio, I create and edit my sequences in my software on my DAW. My process is to use the Style and the Chord Sequencer for fast music production. And on long music prduction I can export Style information out via Midi into my software. 👍🎹👍

Jon, which of your videos explains how to convert a midi track from the sequencer into a MP3. I looked but can't find it. thanks.
@jonmicheals62111 күн бұрын
@edlesniak2475 You can't directly convert a Midi Seguence, a Style, or anything in the players to a MP3. You have to actually play whatever you have in the players and have the Pa5x record whatever you have assigned to the L & R outs. This video should show you how to do it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpC4eYSwntCZgrsfeature=shared 👍🎹👍

Thanks Jon - I have learned a good deal about my Pa5x from you. What DAW do you use to edit midifiles typically?
@jonmicheals6214 ай бұрын
@billfriesTPA You're welcome. I've been using Cakewalk since it came around. Mainly because in the '80s Cakewalk had the best Midi engines. So I'm using the new Cakewalk with all my old VST plugins that I've collected over years. Then I master whatever tracks I'm working on in Sound Forge using ozone 9. When working with just one file I think Sound Forge is the best.

@jonmicheals621Ай бұрын
@colinwhite4439 Watch this video again, and you will see that bringing a Midi file into a player is not hard to do, providing it is a 16-track file. But bringing a Midi file into a Style is very hard. If that Midi file does not have all the information that it needs to create a Style, it will not accept that file. So, it depends on where you are taking that file to. I am using the latestest firmware update, and it seems to be working fine. 👍🎹👍

Jon, is it possible to first record a melody on the Pa5x, and then have the background accompaniment follow along? Or do you always have to start with a chord sequence then the melody? If you have already addressed this in another video of yours, I'm sorry I just haven't seen it yet thanks, ed
@jonmicheals6214 ай бұрын
@edlesniak2475 You can if you're using the 16 track sequencer recorder. Create your melody track and then add your accompaniments. In a Style it's harder to do. Because the CV length is usually only eight measures, which isn't long enough for your Melody, I would think. Also, if you create a melody on one of the style tracks, the notes of that Melody will change with every chord change. Another way to do it would be to record your melody to an MP3 and then have one of the players play it back. But remember, your style will not change the melody notes of the MP3. Check out my KZbin channel playlist on keyboards. It'll show you how the sequencer works and how to create an MP3. 👍🎹👍

A recurring problem just came up files in use cannot be deleted how do you delete files in this thing what are the only way I found is I have to take the little flash drive out and put it in the laptop and delete stuff I should not have to do that it's saying that the freaking file is in use and I can't get rid of it and I need to because it's taking up room on something that I don't want to pay for too much like another flash drive and then it lets you make your accumulate songs that are bullshit songs that are not supposed to be there just cluttering up the thing
@jonmicheals62117 күн бұрын
@alanadee2514 If you have a Style or anything else on the Pa5x running related to that file. The Pa5x will not allow you to delete that file. Sometimes, you have to load 2 Styles in both player 1 and 2 that are not related to the files you're deleting. Then, look for the button right next to the settings button labeled File. This will give you access to all the internal files and external files such as your USB drive. Also, before you use that USB flash drive, make sure there's nothing important on it and have the Pa5x format that drive. I have had problems with flash drives not working with the Pa5x. I now have just one flash drive I use only with the Pa5x, which at the start I had the Pa5x format that drive in the keyboard and now I have no problems. 👍🎹👍

I still want to know why they made a 16 track sequencer and there's no append there's no copy paste no cut or delete you know append how many tracks do you want I want eight instead of having to record 56 measures, loop the thing instantly like I used to I know I worked with sequences before the way easier than this
