how hard is it to keep these in tune?.. if i have the skill to solder a guitar pedal kit… and have a mechanical engineering degree (meaning i am not exactly dumb or mechanically declined), how hard will it be for me to learn?

I have a Polysix, apart from needing to take it to for a repair and service some years back it's pretty stable.
