Oxygene was one of my favorite albums, so the sound of this drum machine is so well endeared to my heart.

Great video, I appreciate how you explained every step in detail. I'm wondering--what material do you use for the dust barrier for switches? Neoprene?

Always love your videos, Keith! I’m curious about why you cleaned up the corrosion before jumping over it. Does it stop it from spreading? And two product questions: 1) Where do you find the dust barrier fabric that you used for that switch? 2) Was that just regular ol’ wood glue that you used on the knobs and the Tolex? Thank you- glad you’re back!
@krmelectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hello Ty. Glad you like the videos. Regarding the trace repair, you are correct, if you don't clean up all of the corrosion it will continue to spread. I'm using heavy card stock for the dust barrier. And yes, it's just wood glue. For the Tolex it was perfect, because the case is made out of wood.

Very helpful video. When you're working on something like this, would you routinely update the PSU caps? Also, any idea where to find those knobs with the aluminum trim? Where are you based?
@krmelectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeffrey. If the power supply caps were bulging, or very old, then yes I would replace them. Regarding the knobs, the only place I know where to get exact replacements is from other broken Korg gear from the same era.

Hello, Nice troubleshooting video and music guitar with this drum machine ! Did you ever find two big connectors inside her sister, the mini Pops 120W (W for WOOD) ? it is what i found in one i bought in a garage sale.

Hello i have the same problem on my minipops; why do you remove the green capacitor ? Thanks for this video !
@krmelectronics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mathieu. I removed the green capacitor just to make it easier to work on the PCB. It was in the way. After I fixed the trace, I soldered it back in.

I love your videos. I am wondering about the black screen in the video between edits. I’ve seen this on other videos. Is this a new “feature” in some particular video editing software? (It’s kind of seizure inducing.)

Hi Charles. I'm based in Canada (Toronto), however I'm sure you'll be able to find someone in LA that can work on old synth gear and drum machines.
