You're the only reviewer who concentrates more on the piano sound voices. That's my bag. The sv2 is on my shopping list. A genuine thank you for this review.

Hey, Could anyone help compare this model to the **Crumar Seventeen**? What does each one offer, and what might one be missing compared to the other? I really want to make the right choice, so your advice would mean a lot to me. This video has been the best resource I've come across so far for this model-especially for someone like me who's not very tech-oriented. The music store salesperson where I tested the SV2 wasn’t much of a help, the salesperson ended up confusing me even more. This video made everything much easier to understand. Thanks so much for your input! but is several hundred dollars between the Crumar Seventeen and the Korg SV2, so I am not sure of my choices right now....

Year 2060, the new Korg SV40 has fantastic Japanese RH3 action... Come on Korg!

There are not just 72 voices but 400. 72 are accessible via the front panel, but when using the editor you have access to 400 different voices in different categories.

Thanks for the demo! I just (somehow) found an SV-2s nearby and I'm extremely excited to get a hold of it! I loved the SV-1 and it seems to be universally considered a worthy successor.

Thank you for your fantastic reviews. You are so positive and it's deep fact you are giving. I appreciate your work a lot and I can't tell how thankful I am to get support for buying my new stage piano. As I'm struggling between the Crumar Seven and the Korg SV2, I'd like your opinion.

When you change the program, is the sound cut? Or does this new version have SST?

Hi Chuck, really enjoyed yours videos. I’m wondering if SV2 can work with a triple pedal unit like the M-Audio SP triple pedal unit for an authentic grand piano pedal action? Please let me know if you have any insights, thank you so much.

Wish they had put the stereo tremolo AFTER the single/mono tube in this updated version. A tiny screen would have been good too for the favorites, even if editable only from the software. 64 is a lot to remember with no display. The GrandStage seems to offer full SGX-2 engine versions of these same pianos + a lot more for the money, and doesn’t require a software editor for anything. The SV-2’s 5gb total ROM means that its versions of the Kronos/GrandStage pianos are bound to be less detailed than the GrandStage, with its 19Gb(32Gb linear) ROM.

Thank you for this in depth review Chuck! I’m waiting on my Sv2s 88 to get here, the current corona situation has halted the shipping, and your videos have been holding me over! Cant wait to get my hands on mine. What stand are you using here and how heavy would you say the board is?

Thank you for your great video! A question. Does it have string resonance? (After pressing a high note, hitting a note 1 or 2 octaves below lets the high note ring). The latest Kronos has it.
@PianoManChuck4 жыл бұрын
That is how an acoustic piano works (there's no dampers on the high notes, so they continue to sound after the key is released). Virtually every keyboard mimics this.
@FrederikVanSinteren4 жыл бұрын
@@PianoManChuck Thanks! I asked because earlier versions of Nord Piano and Kronos didn't have it.

Love the live access with no menus. Great for what it is and does and awesome sounds. But no pitch bend/mod wheel at that price bothers me. Curious to hear a biting Hammond organ sound with rotary. Didn't know that tube was more than decoration. I see those tubes are still readily available, I assume that replacing them only requires removing those 4 screws in the front?
@PianoManChuck4 жыл бұрын
Back in the days of tube driven TV's, housewives would "fix" or "repair" them by taking the tubes out and going to Radio Shack to run them on their tube tester, buying the replacement tubes and putting them back in - simple, right? But now, advanced as things have become, the 12AX7 tube in the SV-2 is NOT user-serviceable - it has to be taken to an authorized repair facility. I'm not sue why - but looking at the unit its not designed in such a way where someone could just pull out the tube as it seems to be in some sort of custom housing.
