Dang, I just bought KORG D1 few weeks ago and I’m completely in love with it. SV-1 has always been my dream piano but outside my budget, with SV-2 it’s great to know I can now save money for a piano that is not 10 years old
@zsigmondkara5 жыл бұрын
Me too! The keyboard is amazing (the same as in the sv1/2) and in an affordable package. It's the perfect midi keyboard and occasional noodling/practicing piano for me.
@awienc5 жыл бұрын
@@zsigmondkara Yeah it's really awesome and overlooked keyboard. I really think that it has the best keybed in this price range, if you don't need onboard speakers, it's perfect. I thought I needed speakers when I was selling my old Casio, but I started to appreciate playing with good headphones, it's much easier to hear all nuances of the sound. I'm glad to hear that you like it as well! Anyway, I also have the tiny Yamaha Reface CP which is probably my favourite piece of gear ever and I hooked it via MIDI to the D1. I would argue that the EP sounds I'm getting now are in the same class as Nords, or SV1/2. I'm planning to throw the Reface YC to the mix as well, it also has an amazing organ sims and hardware drawbars. I would argue that this combo overally will give me sound at least as good as some of the most expensive pianos out there and much better flexibility because of the drawbars and awesome effects on the CP, all for less than 1/2 of the SV2's price, sure it's 3 devices vs 1 but still But dang I just love the aesthetics and the vibe of SV series ❤️😢
@porschepanamera925 жыл бұрын
@@awienc are you able to play the same sounds as presented in this video with the D1? And how do you connect the Reface CP to the D1? I really want a compact keyboard with on board sounds instead of only MIDI possibilities. SV-2 seems fantastic though.
@kengruz6695 жыл бұрын
Very excited about this. Looks like Korg addressed some of the memory, somewhat limited voicing, and lack of layering concerns. But no mention if they addressed any of the design or QC issues, mainly with the keyboard. It seemed that there were dying boards possibly associated with vertical storage of the SV. Luke, please speak about if Korg looked into, located and redesigned the SV in any way to eliminate any concerns with potential buyers. But to repeat, I am very happy Korg has stuck with this lust-worthy keyboard. Thanks. Now, if Yamaha would show some attention to their underlooked and (to me) underappreciated Reface line which could benefit a V2. Nothing a take-anywhere little board with great sounds.

Korg have completely nailed the Fender Rhodes Electric Piano Sound. I had my Kross 2 on top of a Rhodes through the same amp and could play one and then the other without being able to tell any real difference between the two except the real Rhodes was bassier at the bottom end bass notes in the first two octaves.
@redmusichouse5 жыл бұрын
The only thing (so far) that I'm not sold on is that you need to press and HOLD the 3 EQ buttons on the left in order to mute or unmute a layered patch. In a performance scenario, we often need changes on the fly. I think we can do without the HOLD. Just press and go would be a lot more practical.

Luke, before the only splits/layers you could do were predetermined at the Korg factory. Now users can finally make their own in the software. (On board would be better but happy to see you can at least adjust levels live.) This is a huge selling point, so don't downplay it!

Classical music sounds...
@Daring2Win5 жыл бұрын
@@Fireblaze15 I get it, and I'm no authority but the novelty of pizzicato strings, glockenspiel, and orchestral horns with some timpani layered in aren't exactly what everyone's usually waiting for on their favorite dedicated VINTAGE emulations STAGE PIANO.I'd take a virginal, clavichord, and forte pianos for some interesting effects if we're going that route, though. Most of us like the SV1 because it circumvented the useless patches of most other stage pianos, save for stacked voices, and got right to what a stage piano is for... PIANO (i eliminated the organs and such ASAP on the SV-1... NO DRAWBARS NO POINT... no, I don't want drawbars either) . I have a Tyros 5 for orchestral voices, and I'm pretty sure it handles them much more efficiently than the SV-2. Just wish that memory could be allocated to things I'll actually use on a piano... like, forgive my redundancy... more PIANOS. Any how. Happy New Year

No music stores where I can try these out where I live so.. listening to people playing them is at least a start. Love the Nord Sounds, but am not a fan of the feel of playing them, and am therefore thinking about switching brands. But the sound of the Korg need to be on the same level as the Nord, especially the organs.
