Hi, yes it works like that by default for speed. There is a global stutter option, turned on it will effect everything, turned off it will only effect the selected instrument.

I need extreme help with this machine to do what I want it to do lol.. I'm a guitarist trying to put together a rap metal record without a drummer.. and I just can't pull the right sounds out of the thing.. Is there way to get different kits? Cuz this device seems to only cover dance genres.. I need to get it to do multiple genres for what I'm doing.. should I just return it and go with a different drum machine?
@simonguitar4836
@simonguitar4836 2 жыл бұрын
So yes, it just sounds how it sounds, so short answer is, if it's not the sound you're after get something else. Maybe the volca sample, as you can load any sample you want. I've got a vid on it if you want more info
@himynameis4054

@@simonguitar4836 cool thanks for 5he response 👍 I'm probably gonna go with a more classic machine.. maybe an Alesis or something.. I thought I'd get a more modern sound out of this.. but I expected more kit options.. I was wrong.. just a dumb guitarist when it comes to this type of stuff lol
@eyeball226
@eyeball226 2 жыл бұрын
@@himynameis4054 The first 6 sounds are analogue, there's no way to change the sounds beyond the controls you have there without actually changing the circuit. Analogue drum machines can't load different kits because they're actually synthesising the sounds from scratch. A TR-808 can't load different kits either. The machines you're thinking of that can load different kits are samplers, not analogue drum machines.

@@eyeball226 thanks dude .. I already returned it and got an sr 16.. alesis.. it has all the more realistic drum sounding kits that I need.. and it was updated in 2019 so it's got modern sounding kits.. but appreciate the input

Great video. You have shown 3 recording methods, but I don't know how to store those recordings. Can you share how to do this and whether storing recordings is different based on recording mode (i.e. live, or step mode).
@simonguitar4836
@simonguitar4836 3 жыл бұрын
If you go to 3:50 in the vid I show how you write your pattern. You have to store your 'new pattern' in one of the 8 memory slots. So you'll have to overwrite one of them. This is the only way to store, it's the same for any recording mode. Alternatively you could just record the output into a DAW. hope that makes sense.

@@simonguitar4836 im new to this machine too. yours is the best tutorial ive seen yet , but im still not clear. ...those patterns that are in there when you first turn it on are factory presets right? and we can erase them to put our own patterns in . ive tried like in slot one to start with, but it didnt save . im not sure if im recording it right , or am i pressing the buttons in correct sequence. every time i go back to memory to see if my pattern is saved its still the original factory pattern
@simonguitar4836
@simonguitar4836 Жыл бұрын
@@mikekrause3671 So the order you would go in is as follows... 1. select a memory slot to edit. 2. make your edits to that pattern. 3. press function + write to save. make sure when you save your selecting the same memory slot you started with, it should be flashing. I do this process in the vid at 3.50. If it's not working you must pressing something wrong.

i recently bought this and read the manual, i gotta say your video was much more educative, thanks for that! one more question - is it possible to put more patterns into sections? i mean like making different drum patterns for various parts of a song (verse, chorus, etc) as a background for me while i play a different instrument, without having to the switch patterns manually through the memory button (i hope this makes sense, not a native speaker)
@simonguitar4836
@simonguitar4836 3 жыл бұрын
Yes that makes sense, you're talking about a 'song mode', unfortunately no, it does not have one. The only way you could do this would be to trigger the drum machine via midi from another device that has this function. This could be your computer or another hardware sequencer or a midi controller like the keystep. The korg volca sample has a song mode that I show in my tutorial vid, so you could buy one of those as another option.

Im just learning myself, I plugged in through the headphone jack from the Volca to my interface with an instrument cable. Then just open GarageBand and open either a mic track or guitar and it should work. Ive been working on some music today and it sounds pretty good, you can also add reverb using the pedals and other stuff, pretty cool.
