Korg were kind enough to let us borrow there new Volca hardware synths, so we sent our Ableton tutor Chris Mounter home with them, to see what they are all about. In this video Chris will show you how to use the Volca Beats to create a drum pattern, check it out.

The best instructional electronic music video i have ever watched ...Iothers should watch and learn... simple, precise, straight to the point ,no excessive talking and he assume you know nothing about the device which is always the best place to start .Brilliant video ...!!!!!

Thanks for the post! Just wanted to add that you can un-mute anthing that you already muted by holding the mute button and then tapping the key furthest to the right. So if you mute certain parts to try to create a build up effect, you can have ALL of the muted parts drop back in at the same time! Cheers!

shecheyer That is generally done with samplers. If you don't have money for a machinedrum and you want to do it on the cheap but you want a more performance\ instrument feel there are a tone of samplers out there new and used from old school to new. The oldschool samplers Akai, emu, had multiple outputs to route to different mixer channels and a low bit rate for a grainy crunchy sound but very little sample time. Newer ones on the cheap however, are stereo and are 16bit for a cleaner sound and tons of sample time. Take your pick Roland, Korg, Akia, Boss. Or, there is the computer option. A good audio interface and a multipurpose controller, any DAW you like From FLStudio-Logic. Chop up drum beats with any of these devices and methods and create your break core.

You can use the 'active step' mode (func + play) to remove steps from the pattern. If you remove 4 out of the 16 steps, this would effectively result in a 3/4 pattern, wouldn't it?

@nicolascoquin7760
@nicolascoquin7760 8 жыл бұрын
+Justinas Grazys There Maybe not in the pedal board, but if you have an amp that accepts minijacks input, it works pretty good. Maybe with midi in you can plug it to a start/stop pedal, but I didn't try this. But you can plug it into midi to a pad board and play it on real pads
