THIS IS THE BEST BOARD!! Between Yamaha Roland and Korg. This fits board fits my style in a million ways! Just wish I bought it sooner. Great work Korg

Kronos is still a King even after Roland’s new Fantom 2019came . Kronos is so deep and there no need of DAW or Laptop. Just you and the Kronos. Boom. Looking forward Korg is coming with Kronos 3 in Namm 2020 ;-)

The control interface in the Fantom is a master class in effective UX design, kronos pales in comparison in that regard. Korg for a long time was real stubborn about 'minimalist aesthetic', replacing superior hands on control in favor of demonstrably inferior screen based controls. Thankfully they're coming around to the usefulness of hands on controls as evidenced by their newest synths. But credit where it's due - Kronos still has rock solid sounds whose depth won't be exhausted in decades of music making.

@@the80386 I'm a 15 year OASYS user and have thought it was the best workstation there is. And in many regards it is. But - I agree - it's hards to use - a tough beast. I just bought a Kronos88 and Fantom8 - and I have to say - as amazing as the OASYS and Kronos still are - you are 100% correct: the Fantom8 is _staggeringly_ superior as a user experience (and is rapidly catch ing up with synth engine breath and depth too). But its the ease of use that is not only mind blowing - it is, in essence, as simple as it can get. Roland were saying it for the last two years and I was thinking "yeah, yeah, they all say that" - but - it's true! Programming drum patterns is ridiculously easy (and I've hated drum machines all my life because of how hard they are to program). This - 5 minutes to get on top of. 15 years later and I still can't use Karma! This is, for me, a game changer. I'm an old-school electronic music composer - and this is, a paradigm shift - and frankly - it's causing a mini existential crisis for me - I own many hardware synths, and a full DW environment - and the Fantom8 frankly delivers close to it all - but in a fAR more workable, and easy solution. I'm completely bold over by what Roland have done here - and I'm a Jupiter80 owner too and although that sounds gorgeous - operating wise it's a mess. Total redemption by Roland with the Fantom - there aren't sufficient words to express how astounding it is! I have absolutely no vested interest in this - I've spent the past 10 years damning Roland online - but - they have completely redeemed themselves with the Fantom!

Thankyou Korg for the great songs on the new Kronos 2 and hope you will bring out more sounds of famous songs in the future. I would pay for them if you bring some more out and Im sure other people would also pay to have more. Great idea to bring out those great sounds for great songs.

Yes, I agree the lights are very annoying and too damn bright. Technically, they should have been designed to only shine through the very top of a button instead of every fricking side and bottom. One more annoyance is the monotonous sequencer LIGHT, LIGHT,LIGHT,LIGHT!!! running and blinking incessantly even when you're NOT using the sequencer. Why don't I have the fircking option to turn the damn thing off if I'm not using it???

I am familiar w the oldf Karma. Was able to make and edit conbi's and programs and do some Karma assignments. When I use the HELP button of Kronos the menu says what it does but sometimes uses a language I don't understand. So, I would need to see examples and not explanations

Hello. Thanks for your awesome overview tutorial. I am dumfounded that when you load the Kronos patches into the parts in SEQUENCE Mode, that patches are loaded dry (i.e. with no effects). Other brand bring over the effects in a midi/seq mode. Then you can change the effect if you want. I know i can physically add in some effects to each patch in the Kronos. But how come the patches dry in sequence mode. That is very inconvenient as I have to remember and set the effects for each part every time a open a session for that song. Is there a solution to my question or am i doing something wrong?. Thank you for your assistance.

my ONE & only issue is with these LED lights they are above the BUTTON and shine towards the word above the button and I cannot see nothing but light. I wish KORG would allow the USER to EDIT the BRIGHTNESS of these LEDS but i asked and they said the only light you can EDIT is the SCREEN TOUCH PAD. This my ONLY NEGATIVE COMPLAINT. These LEDS hurt my eyes. Is it just me or does this bother anybody else?

Thanks, I have similar issue with KromeEx, where you can't move the touchscreen and sometimes depending on the ambient light you can't see what's on the LED, can you please let me know if you can regulate the touchscreen position (up or down)? or you can only adjust the brightness? and is the keypad good on the 61 keys version?

I would almost be tempted by Kronos and be willing to trade in most of my synths for one - but for one setback. It hasn’t got an aftertouch-sensitive keyboard. (Unless I turned loose of my other synths & modules which might just be “taking up space” and kept my one 88-key model as a MIDI controller for a 61-key Kronos.
@unclepaddy14 жыл бұрын
of course it does have aftertouch!
@Shred_The_Weapon4 жыл бұрын
I felt I had to ask, unclepaddy1. Some of the most complete synthesizers, workstations and master controllers leave it out. Almost as though to the designers, aftertouch is an afterthought.
@gabrielirlanda4 жыл бұрын
@@Shred_The_Weapon KromeEx doesn't have aftertouch, what a shame. In fact I'm checking some Kronos2 videos to see if it worth to upgrade the KromeEx, it cost 3 times more though.

I got mine on April 20th of this year, 2018 and I'm loving everything about it. There's so much to learn, but that's what I would expect when you have such a excellent piece of technology. I wish you all the best with yours, have a blast!

@@nbtd1959 Thanks for your reply but i returned mine back yesterday as i didn't like the main piano sounds at all as my own Yamaha CP4 has better pianos, but i have to say the Electric pianos on the Kronos especially the Wurlitzers were out of this world.
@nbtd19595 жыл бұрын
@@paulallenMacca That's to bad. Since I'm not a piano aficionado as I'm only learning to play the keyboard, I really love the piano sounds. I'm playing through a rather large amp system. I'm using a 200 watt Drum amp, with a separate 1000 Watt capable Rockville monitor speaker. When I play the piano it sounds as close to a real piano as I've heard, even though I haven't been around a real piano since I was a kid, maybe 40 years ago.I know my set-up is overkill considering that I'm only playing it in a 12' x 14' room and my and and I are the only people who will ever here me play. I played the guitar for 40 years and due to a disability I had to quit. The Kronos is helping me fill my creative musical needs. Have a great holiday.
@synthguy77745 жыл бұрын
@@paulallenMacca If you don't like the default sounds, you could always change them; I'm sure you could download patches off the internet. The Kronos is a deep board capable of just about anything; this makes it a double edged sword. I myself just got the Roland Fa-08; it's not the Kronos but it's still powerful and yet, more intuitive. Also, the Keys are the best I've felt on any board. Mines an 88 key.
