These videos are nicely done in so many ways. No wasted space with little delay between moving on to the next topic. I love how the audio and person behind the controls are so in sync. The fact that we can hear the ambient noise without any extra background noise is a major plus and professionally done. The person in the video keeps his hands out of the way very well too, which I wish others could try to do more often. The narrator's voice is perfect as well. You can easily hear him and the Kronos at the same time with no one drowning the other out. My only non-positive feedback would be this particular video I believe should have been split up to two videos. One video as the titles states, and a second video giving the explanations of the 9 sound engines. It's quite a long part of this video and was hard to find since it's not in the title. I do see how they tie together, but rather hear things twice in several videos than not be able to locate it. My wish, and may exist already, somewhere, is that there were more videos on this. Even if they were put on bluray discs and sold, I would buy them as I know others would. This beast I am happy to say I own. I love it, but seeing demonstrations is always better than reading for me. If there were 1000 videos, I would have watched them all several times by now. Thanks for these videos and for putting so much effort in making them!

I’d actually pay to attend a course to operate this instrument, if there such a thing? It’s always easier and far quicker to be shown, and be able to ask questions, than to read about it in a manual, especially with an instrument with so much capability. It’s features are tremendous and it’s not unusual for me to spend more time learning about its functions than actually playing it!

yes, the voice is very clear, however, the voice portion is 4 times as loud as what you hear from the keyboard: if you raise the sound to hear the keyboard better, then the voice is too loud!!

In own the OASYS. It is overkill for me since I don’t dive into the minutia (to me) of sound editing. I love the unique inspiration that KARMA offers. If the Programs (patches) are equal or better than O’s, it might be what I am looking for. I plan on moving to Kronos 2 instead. Is this crazy? After 15 years with the OASYS, I want something new. Any feedback is appreciated.

Tom Meagher I hope you kept your Oasys? its surperior to the Kronos to me, I would buy one over a Kronos if I could find the 76 key instead of the 88. The BIG tiltable screen is needed. I already had a Kronos and the smaller screen crammed a million things into it and made it hard to use with your finger. Sell me your Oasys ;-)

Great video. It was very helpful. Can you explain how to modify Attack, Sustain , etc. of created Combi's? I can't seem to figure a way to do that. Would I need to modify and save the programs separately, then add then to the Combi? If so, would that alter the program permanently?

Perry Capitani Hi, yes, the underlying Prog is changed. I tend to make a copy of the Prog and rename it to reflect the Combi it's for.

Korg would want to push the limit even further with very minimal R&D cost, they would actually really capitalise on their Oasys/Kronos environnement and synth history... Releasing more new engine. Where is the M1 Engine? (with all M1/T1 presets and expansion card... they did it in VST/AU plugin and still not done for the Kronos... same thing with the Wavestation presets of the Korg Legacy, even thought the Kronos can do wavestation sounds). They did something for the Krome, but not the Kronos. It's just pure non-sense. Where is the Triton Extreme Engine? Same thing... people would love to get the Kronos and be able to play all their previous sounds they had in their Triton series keyboards. Then, add more engine... based on some of the famous Korg synth or some of the re-edition... such the Korg Arp Odyssey? Why have we more synth emulation on the Gadget application for iPad than in the flagship Korg keyboard Kronos?? If they would make sense, they would release all Gadget synth as "Kronos Engine"... it doesn't make sense to use an iPad connected in midi to a Kronos to get more "Korg Synth Engine"
@Spidouz
@Spidouz 8 жыл бұрын
+Phil Smith Not even mentioning other engine such Virtual Acoustic modeling, Advanced Physical Modeling (and not only strings... think something like Sample Modeling Kontakt bank, or even the Wivi from Wallander Instruments). Many things Korg could actually do to really capitalise on their Kronos platform.
@187onasimp
@187onasimp 6 жыл бұрын
Why would Korg put an outdated M1 or Triton synth engine on a Kronos? There's no benefit to them. You'd be better looking for sound libraries of them to add.
@crimsun7186
@crimsun7186 6 жыл бұрын
Because it has a Polysix and a MS-20 as two of the engines, even thought it already has a pretty powerful Synth engine that can pretty much do any sound that the former two can.

Where did they call it an Analog Synth? He's explaining the Kronos Engines. The AL1 is an analog synthesis engine. You create sounds as you would on an Analog Keyboard with it. What did you miss about that you nit picker.

Cronos 2 may be the most advanced keyboard available, the most complete parameters, design, beauty, etc. The only bad thing on the Cronos is the SOUND. You can´t even have a nice trumpet, Saxophone, or other acoustic instrument. Sound articulation is childish as we had on keyboards 20 years ago. If you listen to acoustic guitar you hear a dull static sound. Instead, if you hear YAMAHA TYROS 5, you´ll see almost real acoustic instruments. No matter gigabytes if you don´t know what to do with them...
@alphasxsignal

+Dihelson Mendonca THird party companies have solved that. They have great Sax sounds and more. I use a Yamaha S970 with a Kronos 2 88key to cover it all.

You came here to bitch almost two and a half months ago, (" THIS IS THE WORST AND MOST DIFFICULT PROCESS I'VE EVER DONE" ). Maybe instead of fixing it for a fifth time, stop fixing it, pay it off, then fix it right before you sell it. You'll save money and have the added benefit of not complaining. That is of course if you actually have one and aren't just here to troll.

@@lemonmanlbc Sounds like I triggered you. Didn't mean to do that. Needed to vent. Paying it off slowly, waiting to go to the shop for the 6th time. Learning patience. Won't sell it. Don't wanna put anyone else through the possibility of this. Had many Korgs. This has not been fun. Life goes on.

@@PaulAdamssongs I had a Roland that I put in the shop at least a dozen times. With that synth though, I depended on the sounds I created in it for songs my group recorded. Those songs needed to sound the same live as they did on the album. I was bound to that synth so long as I was touring and playing those songs. I finally put that thing to pasture, but you know what? I don't regret using it. I created some great music with that synth. I guess what I'm getting at here is if you hate this synth so much, get rid of it. Why put yourself through the heartache if it's just causing you to get upset over a period of months and causing you to vent on a help video?

@@lemonmanlbc I vented out of frustration. Longer story than just the Kronos. I needed to adapt to paying for a keyboard that won't work. Still owe 800 (Monthly payments left). Person that sold it doesn't accept responsibility. Interestingly I had a lot of folks express surprise at how "cool" I was dealing. That day was the peak. I then internalized that it's just a keyboard and used it as an exercise to release (As I am using Trump as a tool in dealing w/ crazyness). I hear what U R saying about old instruments. I feel the same. I am using less keys in my albums than in the past. BUT, I was frothing for the Kronos to use because of it's almost boundless features. BUT, I accept responsibility for buying a used instrument. And that I should have immediately sent it back. I thought I was doing the eller a favor by having my korg tech friend work on it. It wasn't until it was too late to leave a negative mark on the ebay purchase we discovered he had been inside the instr quite a bit and wasn't very neat or skilled. But hey, I'm so lucky despite this. Very lucky

Update.... Paypal (I used their C Card) looked in to the issue and recognized the quite unusual way the ebay purchase went down. They also expressed frustration that they had me repeatedly send all info to them. A long history of miscommunication. Despite being past date in which they could refund, they did make a partial refund. I was blown away at their action and thank Paypal for being HUMAN in this world of zero's and ones

well, actually KRONOS IS A COMPUTER, with a operating system dedicated to music production and 9 sound engines which come from the Korg history and experience, and a lot of other features not to be understimated (like Karma, for example). There is very little you can't do with it, in the same manner as there is very little you can't do with a computer and a good master keyboard. The point is that not everybody like to work with a computer, and even less like to carry a computer with a master keyboard for live performances. Korg Kronos is surely expensive, but Korg is supporting it well and will probably retain good value for years to come...a computer, on the other side, is very soon outdated. Just my 2 cents.
