It was intense as hell. That was back before most people had cell phones so it was all just craziness and crowds. About 300k attended. Korn was so intense, hilarious they had Bush play after them, quite a drop in energy (Aerosmith was initially supposed to clsoe day one but they dropped). All the porta potties, lines of hundreds of them were packed for of shit after a day and a half, no joke you'd open door after door and there'd be a cone of shit sticking out of it. I have no idea what the women there did, my buddy and I just pissed in an empty water jug. As far as the riots, I was there and other than seeing fire in the distance, I had no idea about them until I got home. the 3rd day the 2nd stage was way more metal than stage 1 (Our Lady Peace, Superman's Dead was a big hit at the time, Sevendust when they were brand new, Megadeth)so we were over there all day, I think Megadeth got done around midnight. We then walked to our campsite, packed up, walked to our car, slept a couple hours as traffic dispersed then hit the road and drove all night home. It sucks the fires and riot are the lasting image of the event because I was there 4 nights and it has nothing to do with any of my terrific memories of it. They really need to have another for the 50th anniv in 2 years but no one will want to buy the insurance to cover it.

im super sad that i was only 5th grade, n there was no way my parents woulda let me go to see korn back then. i was def a korn kid through n through. all my art projects in middle school n elementary were always branded korn kid, or somethin wit korn. follow the leader literally changed my life. i was 100% all about classic rock, up until one field trip to teton science school, n my homie eric gave me a tape to jam in my walkman. fuck me man, my mind was bee-lown! im 34 now, n still have never seen them, n wit the bass slappin home boy not bein there, i wonder if ill ever get to see the original line up. dont really matter though, cause i hate seein bands past their prime. its so sad that the vocal chords go to shit with time, its a big problem with me enjoyin the music sometimes. like rush, n riseagainst, two of my favorite bands, n two that i never really got to enjoy much of their prime. well never rush, but i was lucky enough to see rise a good 4-6 times before bout 07ish when home boys vocals changed, making all their songs kinda sound the same. not a big rise fan anymore, but their first 4 albums are indeed fire.

I am now 40. I was 17, turning 18 at this concert. I met my wife there during the Korn set. Was the greatest times of my life. It was times humans were most free during the 90's. Everyone was just doing their thing and living life. People as a whole were not living in fear and they were not afraid to take risks. I would die happily if I could go back to living free again. I do not fear death. While these times are bleak, It was those good times that keep me going.

@@motorbreathjz I wish that were the case with todays youth. Now, they are all stuck on phones all day and have Adult stuff shoved in their face. Its horrible. The internet is corrupting kids, making them unhealthy both physically and mentally, and making them socially awkward and depressed. Thank god I got some property in the suburbs and we have a farm now with a strong community that shares values. Our kids get very little tech time.
