Such a classic song. First heard this song in 96 back when I was 10 years old. Was really getting into metal at that time and my uncle got this Espn X games Volume Compilation cd and this song was on it, and was obsessed with from the get go. Just a good heavy bang your head song that really paved the way for the nu metal sub genre. Great reaction!

Oh wow, thank you for explaining all that. It's kinda crazy when you think a band had their big break to another song..and it wasn't even their first song/attempt. I've been so wrong haha.

Track #1 and first single, first music video by KoRn from their 1994 self-titled debut album (and yes, they always play it live)... It was the record and band to take 90's rock out of the grunge rock era and into the late 90's 'nu metal' era, alongside bands like Limp Bizkit... Deftones... Coal Chamber... P.O.D. ...etc. Although 'Blind' got some MTV airplay, KoRn didn't set the world on fire in the 90's, like previous rock bands like Motley Crue... Guns N' Roses... or Skid Row ...in the 80's... KoRn went on tour in 1995 as an opening band and were not well-received at first. It wasn't until they opened for Ozzy Osbourne in 1996 that KoRn began to take off and the record finally sold a half million copies in the US, even w/ more MTV videos for 'Clown'... 'Shoots and ladders'... (KoRn eventually co-headlined Ozzy's Ozzfest tour in 2003) 2nd album 'Life is peachy' was a dark, hardcore-influenced record... and despite only 1 MTV single 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' ... the album charted at #3 in the US and sold gold (half million copies) faster than their debut album and KoRn toured into 1997, co-headlining the Lollapalooza '97 tour w/ Tool. It was their 3rd album 'Follow the leader' in 1998 that broke KoRn big worldwide, charting at #1 and selling 5x platinum in the US (5 million copies) w/ the singles 'Freak on a leash'... and 'Got the life' ... and pushed sales of their first 2 records past platinum sales.

This song when it was new was my introduction to Korn. This and Shoots And Ladders is what I think of when I think of Korn.

such a cool funky and energetic another creative band from California being able to harness all that aggression they were feeling they were at the top of their game

It wasn't until 1999, that I began to introduce myself to the much more heavier rock that was to start off the new century. I think I probably even discovered it before Woodstock '99 that year. I can't even imagine Jonathan Davis' feelings about Woodstock that year after collapsing backstage after their performance. Anyway, yeah my introduction to heavier music that year included Korn, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, Kid Rock, Static-X, and Powerman 5000. Despite my absolute love of punk rock music in high school (which ironically was at the turn of the century), I didn't forget my first introduction to heavier music in 1999. It felt like a new age of aggression with music too. There was something more powerful about it. It was more aggressive, but yet more expressive in the lyrics. By the way, I still hope you'll check out Powerman 5000's "When World's Collide." I think you'll like Spider One (the lead singer of Powerman 5000 aka Rob Zombie's brother).

Props to Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu on Bass. The man really knows how to drive a tune. Any chance we get a reaction to Helmet?

What up..hey not really a request here but it's be dope. Check out them performing this at Woodstock 99 live, 100x better. Live is always the way to go with bands you get so much more energy out of it. I had a chance to go to that to I was 18 but wasn't able last minute. And it is so very cool seeing the younger folks of today still enjoying the same shit us old heads listened to lol..like that is way cool. Makes me not feel so old lol..for Gods sake you hear Korn now on classic rock stations lol. I would of never thought, life's a trip

Haha, a lot of people don't really know anything from their first self-titled album! I think it's by far their best. I love the whole album! Well, except one song...

🤔 Is it the one I wouldn't mention or a different one? I looked up the track listing just now and yeah, I don't know any of them. 👀 Well, besides Blind now lol.

@nikkireviews Haha, no, not track 6.. The last track, Daddy, and the hidden track that follows it, "Michael & Geri," are what I was referring to.. And they're definitely far from my favorite.. The whole song is really fucƙeɗ up, honestly.. If you think a lot of their lyrics are "dark," that song will make you wanna join a convent!.. 😆

@nikkireviews They were all definitely going through pretty dark times when making that album, though.. I know that Jonathan Davis was still a hardcore Tweekabod Crane back then and wrote and recorded the whole thing while spun higher than the sun!.. Just look at "Ball Tongue" for example.. It's just a song about a guy with a pierced tongue that sold t-shirts for the band and nobody liked!.. He just used that Methamatic equation to create music, and it fucƙīŋ worked... Lmao.. 😆
