That Follow the Leader snare is THE snare sound of the 90s imo. It just sums up the whole decade, and it fits in so many musical contexts. It would easily be happy in a typical Pop track, as well as R&B, Hip-Hop, and---of course--modern styles of metal. It just has that X-factor. Very "live" sounding.

Silveria is groove, rhythm and soul; For me, Silveria's work in Korn marks a before and after sound in nu metal, Korn's top albums are the ones that were recorded with the original lineup, Luzier is an excellent drummer, maybe I'm getting old but with the departure of Fieldy the sound of Korn is not so Korn anymore! Congratulations on his great research work, top level!

David inspired me to start drumming. I remember practicing at home, before taking drum lessons, and trying to show my teacher what I was practicing and he was like what is with all these ghost notes and loved it. Opened his eyes to David's drumming style. Not taking away from Ray, but his drumming does nothing for me, David really helped shape Korn's signature sound

I'm not a die hard Korn fan and I don't make many friends when I say that I like Ray Luzier's style even more. And I would absolutely love to see a video about his drum sound. But Silveria definetely has made some unique and iconic drum beats with the early Korn stuff.

If I can be critical for a second , ONE big factor you're missing in this recreation of his sound is how hard he hits the drums. Now replay Freak OAL ,only hit the drums about as hard as you can and dial it back 10%. NOW you'll truly have his sound. Watch him play live from the 90s and he's smashing the shit out of the drums.

I'm not super knowledgeable on this channel, but based off the videos I've watched, they seemingly only do videos on songs that they can get their hands the versions without the drum track, presumably from Rockband based on the crowd sound you can hear at 7:34 (as crowd sound was an extra track that they sometimes included on the Rockband games). If true, I know for a fact Mudvayne currently only have Happy? released on Rockband which obviously misses off everything else, especially their LD50 stuff, Limp Bizkit have a couple of songs like My Way and Re-arranged, Linkin Park with In The End, Numb, Given Up etc, System of a Down with Spiders, Chop Suey, Aerials etc. I'm not sure about Deftones and Incubus.

I agree they need to sell multilayered - round robin samples of each drum. I purchased the Fleetwood Mac samples to test them and only had 3 samples (low, med & high velocities) for each drum. In this day & age with drum replacement so good and now there are many edrum modules importing multilayered - round robin samples. For one snare sound there should be 25- 40 samples minimum but 65- 90 samples (very quiet- very loud velocities) for great realism, this numbers can be halved for toms & kick samples. Art Of Drumming sound on KZbin is very high quality but the samples they sell are very poor quality.
