I know, right? I don't understand how people say it's an awful movie. I know there are a few cheesy scenes here and there, but all in all is one of the sexiest movies I've ever seen... And I think it captures some of the best book parts extremely well.

If you were to look at the image of a vampire in history its pretty gruesome, dirty and even putrid. Lestat is a perfect balance between that, and more modern image.It's because he seem knowledgeable, nothing surprises him any more, hes seen it all over a few centuries. Twilight vampires are well... stuck in one teenage mindset and seem like they haven't learned anything over time. And then there is physicality, SPARKLING!? I mean like REALLY! Vampire is supposed to inspire terror and not flashback from the 80's disco club party balls.

It's my understanding, that Davis pretty much wrote the entire soundtrack, but "contractual obligations" prevented him from singing on any of the tracks. That's why you hear Chester Bennington singing a Korn song.
@threezysworld80893 жыл бұрын
@@jpalderman26 It's actually Bennington's and Davis' voices layered over each other. I believe on the Draiman version of this song it's also Draiman's vocals layered over Davis' as well.

Interesting bit of info: this entire video is a homage to the first ever horror film: "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari" (released in 1920). Only noticed this now cause I only watched that a few days ago but I'd seen QotD several times over since it was released. The most obvious part is the scene of him holding the woman at 2:08, but there's also the circular shadows, the fact that it's black and white, the uneven silent-era-style fast motion with low framerate, and especially the background artwork of the houses.

I wish the other bands had never remade these, and that the soundtrack had these far superior originals only. It would have also been even more cool if it were actually released as a "Vampire Lestat" album, as if it were a real band, rather than as "Queen of the Damned Soundtrack". Bleh whatever

I would have wanted it to be non-glossy paper, like Papa Roach's first album, with transparent inserts, like the original copies of Slipknot's Iowa (before they later changed it for cheaper mass production and left it as normal typical paper). The record label did it, not by choice of the artists. They wanted to get more publicity for their other artists and so Refused to allow Korn an exclusive release. Just trying to make money but selling their listeners a commercial instead of an album they really want.
@PhantomLAM8 жыл бұрын
The record refused Jonathan Davis to use these so instead of remaking the songs entirely he got a bunch of his friends to redub the lyrics.
@rickreed66538 жыл бұрын
This is the real version of the song. It was the one in the movie and the voice of Lestat/Stuart Townsend/Jon Davis who was the singing vocal of Lestat, similar to when Jack Skellington sings in Nightmare before Christmas it is Danny Elfman, but when he talks, it's Chris Sarandon. It was written by Jon Davis. The other version was made for the soundtrack because they didn't what the soundtrack to be just another Korn album, so most songs from the movie had guest singers as a deal with the distributor. I was always disappointed the real version was not on the disc for I feel this is completely superior and fits perfectly.

"Forsaken" [Originally wrote and performed by KORN] I'm over it You see I'm falling in the vast abyss Clouded by memories of the past At last, I see I hear it fading I can't speak it Or else you will dig my grave We fear them finding Always whining Take my hand now Be alive You see I cannot be forsaken Because I'm not the only one We walk amongst you Feeding, raping Must we hide from everyone I'm over it Why can't we be together Embrace it Sleeping so long Taking off the mask At last, I see My fear is fading I can't speak it Or else you will dig my grave We fear them finding Always whining Take my hand now Be alive You see I cannot be forsaken Because I'm not the only one We walk amongst you Feeding, raping Must we hide from everyone You see I cannot be forsaken Because I'm not the only one We walk amongst you Feeding, raping Must we hide from everyone Everyone Everyone Everyone [fading out]

I think Stewart Townsend played this character perfectly not only for the movie, but especially for the music videos. His facial structure, plus the way her carries himself, his demeanor, is like spot on for how these songs sound to me.

Yes, and he wrote it, but David Draiman of Disturbed did the ST version, and it's 10x better.

I like both versions of Lestat, but I prefer Stuart, looks more darker just like I imagined Lestat (& his voice OMG) To be PERFECT only need to be blonde and have light eyes like Lestat, but it was a pretty cool movie (and could be more faithfull to the book, but still was cool) & I LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK
