This is one of my favorite acoustic performances ever. I by far prefer this version to the original because I absolutely love the instrumentation. Most acoustic performances are nice, but a bit boring because it's usually acoustic guitar at the forefront, but the way they chose to have drums, bongos, keyboard, violin, acoustic bass, and an 8-string guitar as the instruments makes the sound so unique. It's beautiful by itself. It's haunting, exotic and gives me chills. I've watched Queen of the Damned when it was first released in the cinemas in my country. it was played by the gypsies hanging around Marius' castle and Lestat being a new fledgling vampire was in thirsty for blood. We all knew what happened next. The violin is almost chanting, sort of singing the complaints of an oppressed, indigenous people, tribe, culture at risk of disappearing.

The whole QotD vibe/soundtrack has this dark yet holy seductive enticement. Like a serpent slithering on its prey, but also a sort of reverence of something higher. It invokes a hunger for power too. Just so many things. Shankar and davis really have such chemistry in music. And i absolutely love jay gordons vocals on this too it fits soo perfect. Davis' is perfect too each in their own way. Chester bennington too has perfect cover of system ( why wont you die).. this whole soundtrack is just an absolute masterpiece and really captures the whole theme of the movie
