I think I will try Imperial hammers instead of rail guns.. I might put short-range super penetrator on it for damage. I'm using an incendiary double shot frag Cannon.... might replace that for all multi cannons. I think one corrosive is enough so I might do 2 incendiary multicannons up top.. Also definitely don't need weapons focused distributors if you're mostly using multicannons..i think i know what i should do.. great video, helped a lot.

No no.. you've gotten me wrong not talking about just your video.. everyone has show combat with the python.. i haven't seen any other combat in any other ships that are modded.. I'm very interested to see like Corvette combat.. No just mod it. I want to see the mods in action :).. Great video tho.. Thanks for the video.. your vids have help me understand this expansion a lot better.. Due to RL work it's hard for me to research everything. :)

They will probably lower the damage of the L class MultiCannons. They'd be insane to keep that damage. It's beyond OP.

+Jamie Wallis i completely share that same feeling. Improved handling AND improved shields is what I am really looking forwards. Improved firepower will also be nice, but python has been a powerful shooter before also. I just keep on losing my shields on fighting with my python and that makes even PvE a bit too tiresome. For whatever reason it also seems that NPCs like to ram python a lot. Perhaps I am just so slow that I cannot avoid the hits currently. So, in the end: shields and maneuverability for my favorite ship :-)

Yeah.... i have a good fleet of ships with a sub-set in 'active duty' the rest being stripped out and parked.... Right now my conda is the go-to combat ship and the corvette is parked and cutter is mining/trade... I have a FAS for CZ's but i think once i start getting engineering upgrade opening up (might be a while though) then the Python/FdL will step-up and conda might step down

+Jamie Wallis Its really hard to know. I would love to enjoy Python again. Currently I mostly fight with Corvette and put trading setup on my Conda (haven't used it much lately though). The vette is not really using the C4s though as I just have large burst lasers on them). I hope python will be my main ship with engineers, but the handling and shields would really have to improve for that to happen....

Corrosive doesn't stack and isn't slot size dependant, best to use it on the smallest HP.

If railguns came with gimbled versions at the cost of more power, more heat and slightly reduced range I would love to use them in conjunction with the plasma slug mod, but I can't use fixed weapons with my setup, my throttle is too stiff for precise aiming, especially if I have to wait a second for the charge. :(

It sucks you can't get sturdy mount on railguns. I would. This will be a fun combo in live. I *love* the railgun sound. Now I don't have to restrain myself so much.

Ok. As far as I remember sturdy mount increases AP and damage per hit slightly.

I like flexibility. Beyond ~1km the short range blasters damage is lower due to damage dropoff. And longrange blaster only comes in after ~ 2000m distance. If anything I will go for shortrange lv1, sturdy lv1 or lightweight.

not really, it might be good against silent runners if correct special abilities can be rolled, this armor penetration is confusing for me and very hard to test.

You say you have 2 corrosive and 1 ince. Isn't 1 corrosive enough to support all weapons fireing at the hull? Do 2 corrosive weapons stack?

So how exactly do the shields work now ? How is it possibl for assault ship and vulture to get 1200/1600 shield strengh but clipper and python isn't ?! (atleast, that's what i have understood)

+MrShadowofthewind you understood wrong, why would you even think that!? shield boosters can be fitted on any ship and they boost up to +70% shields (now 20%), shield optimal strength also can be increased by 20-25%.

no. not at the moment. BUT if you refer to mass lock then hyperjump IS NOT affected by mass lock, so if you are under fire from larger ship do not super-cruise but hyperjump instead. always.

what is better, overcharge or sturdy for a multi cannon? i have 2 burst laser overcharge and 2 burst laser efficent, they take the shield down very very fast. Now i want to upgrade my multicannon (Large hardpoiunt). but i dont know if i should take overcharge for damage or sturdy for armour piercing

***** I personally stick to all lasers just because I hate running out of ammo. Mostly interested in its speed and maneuverability fully decked out. The distributor is weak, which is the Achilles Heel of it. Perhaps trying to overcome that?

+Kornelius Briedis Back when I used Courier I always went with 1 beam and 2 multi-cannons. Worked pretty well except against heavily armored targets.

+ShermanStrike well, technically he was correct because there are no engineers at stations and there is big IF they come, devs said that there will be but judging that they can't even give us module storage i wouldn't expect it soon, so for time being only horizon owners can mod their modules.

true, many materials can be found now in space/missions/mined, also they changed slightly blueprints so it's hard to tell, but still you can go down and drive for 1 hour to hit the limit ;p

Pip control. 4 Pips into engines when you use them. also get dirty Drive engineering on your thrusters, with drag Drive experimental effects makes you faster and drift easier. A grade is better. D grade for explorer ships.. also he is mostly going after anacondas slowest NPCs in the game besides type 10's. You don't even really need Pips into engines with a python. With my setup I use all multicannons 4 pips into systems for maximum Shield strength and 2 pips into weapons. Definitely upgrading the rail guns to Imperial hammers and you only need one corrosive shell multicannon. Two incendiaries is enough for Shields and hull damage. This build is definitely a good start.. I also definitely wouldn't use weapon Focus power Distributors with mostly multicannons on a build... they don't use enough power to justify using it over enhance charge power distributor that would be better for boosting and shields aswell... wasted potential there.. I'd also get Prismatic shields on a medium class ship as fast as possible over the bi-weave with fast charge shield, even though python is an amazing hull tank.. Its really good with shield tanking too and has the 7A power to use it. High capacity prismatics still charge fairly quick on a medium class ship, even without shield cell Banks.. I feel like this is so close to perfect.

engineer with weapon mods i assume, i have videos what engineers offers but not many were interested in those, the required materials might be now slightly different from beta but blueprints should be same, check those videos and see who has what you need, i am not planing on visiting engineers until i hit 600 limit

+Droogie128 hmmm, funny thing is that even with unlimited ammo they are not as effective as overcharged medium multis with some nice ability, and they tend to over heat a lot, i tried fdl with 2 rails and 3 multis and 5 multis and with 5 i got better results..

especially when you upgrade thrusters and other stuff it is even less heat efficient. i actually will try my beloved 1 fixed beam and gimbaled multi later, it can handle that pretty nicely, now i want to see how it handles in combat.

Kornelius Briedis I really love my pulse lasers, too. They seem to be the perfect weapon for me. Easy on the distributor, and hard on shields with good hull penetration. Maybe 2 pulse 1 multi?

engineers shifted pretty much weapon balance, if you can't handle lasers you don't need them anymore - mod your multis and you will have insane loadout.

+Kornelius Briedis I don't know if this is true or not.. but can you give it a try.. you know how to can click and it will auto finish the RNG. Well if you wait for it to get the Experimental part of the game and wait for the dial to spin then you click it seems like you make it land on one of the blue spots.. Give it a try plz let me know if seems like a mini game if you click at the right moment you could get it to stop on one of the blue tics.

Yeah.. Just figured it out.. Must of been really good luck.. because i got like 4 special abilities in a row.. but then my luck ran out.. that little arrow was stopping at the same point I was clicking..
