I think some of us don't understand enough the kind of feeling Japanese people go through when they get rid of the formal honorifics and replace them with - chan, - chi, and stuff. Or when they exchange contact info. It seems to be a feeling of a big accomplishment, or maybe like a privilege, a way to deepening a relationship , it's so important for them, but for me it's just another day. Maybe I should appreciate more that moment when people get closer.
