@@usakenvi from the very little Japanese i know I’m guessing it directly translates to “You is my stand right?” Which in the en subs it translates to “You didn’t think i had a stand too?” (Take this with 10 kilograms of salt because i only know the basics of Japanese”
@yuurai
@yuurai 3 жыл бұрын
@@usakenvi ね(ne) here is kinda like か(ka)which is used to question but ne is much more nicer to use (honestly ne doesn't need to be used here). You'll get used to it over time with how ne is used in comparison because it's honestly difficult to explain even though it's easy to understand. I guess the least i can say is that how ne here is kinda used like "right?" or "yeah?" So with those pieces the sentence can come off as "You thought I didn't have a stand as well?" Also my japanese is kuso level, but apes together are strong so I just tried to help the best I can.

Considering that Jojo itself is one big musical reference, I think it's only fair that it can be referenced freely

Thank you for elaborating on exactly how the japanese was translating. I got that it was bad, but actually seeing the literal ways the japanese is off is hilarious

I knew absolutely nothing about Henry Stickmin before about half an hour ago, but I figured it was some flash game on like Ebaum's World or Newgrounds or something, back like 15 years ago. But then I see references to Among Us and A Hat in Time, and now I'm really confused lol

So it's crappy Japanese, obviously, but I wonder if the devs had some idea of what they were doing with the humour in the bits that the JP members all lost it at, like the unexpectedly grammatically correct line, and the accent on "die".

Part of me wonders how terribly it would translate if we took the JP "dub", and translate it back to English, word by word, without changing anything. I'd wager it would be a mess, but how much of a mess it would be is interesting.

Even 100% correct Japanese would be a mess if you translated it _word for word._ If you meant translate it to the best approximation of the English equivalent, then yes, I agree, it would be a mess.

Not gonna lie, Time in a Bottle / Bottled Time sounds like an awesome Stand name. Also Tribute / Reference (named after the Tenacious D song) as well.
