Hate that it took so long for the Avatar fandom to embrace korra resulting in its discontinuation. We didn’t know how good we had it until it was gone but at least our cries have been heard and ALOT of Avatar content is coming

Yeah i feel like i also judged LOK too harsh, we all wanted a superpowerful avatar that struggles yh but ends up on top but we got an avatar that was sturbon, disrespectful, never learned and constantly got her a** handed to her, we never felt satisfied with her and never felt a connection like we did with aang but i soon came to learn that everything is explained in this last episode, korra was born strong, tough, she had no fear and could face every challenge head on which made her proud, as the avatar she needed to know pain and suffering to know humility and truly be a light in the world even to the villains, aang was already hurting when he escaped and he came back to a world where his entire family and friends and everyone like him was dead so he was already humbled and knew suffering so there wasn't much need for character development for him like there was for korra, all he needed to do was save the world which is why there seemed to be more smooth sailing for him for the most part but korra needed internal change above all else which is why life was much harsher on her

@@ridgefrost I totally agree!! in a way it was just easier for fans to feel for Aangs story compared to Korras becuase that first impression of Korra compared to Aang is exactly how you discribed. We wanted a character with development and depth to start the story instead of the stubborn privileged cry baby that we first saw in Korra. By the time fans started liking Korras character it was too late and the studio wasn’t seeing enough dollar signs and it was just too late. Here’s hoping everyone’s patient and invested in the long run if the third avatar they take on is introduced like Korra in terms of development.

only reason Korra got her ass handed to her alot is cause she got more seasons than ATLA, people forget but Aang and them lost ALOT in ATLA before finally beating the Fire Nation in Book 3, in Korra it was a different villain every season and she lost alot too but due to the fact she had more seasons that almost meant she won alot more.@@ridgefrost

For everyone saying Korra x Asami was so out of the blue and/or "forced", the writers did all they could to put in small hints to their romance. But Nickelodeon said no to anything too obvious. The writes even wanted them to kiss at the end, Nickelodeon said "no". It was planned for them, all throughout season 3 and 4 to end up together, just couldn't make it obvious so they resorted to small things. Asami helping Korra get ready, even though Senna (Korra's mom) was there aswell and could've done it. Korra only writing Asami. Korra telling Asami how happy she is to have her in her life. Any time anyone gets angry at Korra she gets defensive and gets angry aswell, when Asami got angry at Korra she tried to calm Asami down etc. etc.

Yeah. The whole thing just sucked so it's sad. I would've loved if everything wasn't so damn homophobic, and we could've had just this build from the start in an obvious way without all the love triangle bs. Because alas, them being forced to keep things vague and miniscule DOES make it feel random/sudden/outta nowhere, despite them doing their best to have it in there whenever and however they could. :[

It's not even that. It's just hetero-normativity clouding people's interpretations. If Asami had been a man, but nothing else about the seasons 3/4 scenes had changed, no one would have been surprised/confused that they got together in the end.

I love the half-confusion of emotions and whatever at the end with Korra and Asami. I remember when it came out that I was perplexed and had confused emotions (not bad emotions it felt dramatic). Back then, seeing something like that was NOT common if I remember in a "kids/teen" show, at the least in western cartoons and I remember it was a big deal compared to these days.

THANK YOU ANOTHER MAKO/WU SHIPPER! I swear I'm not making up the subtext between those two, but every time i mentioned that pairing to anyone they acted like i was completely pulling it out of my ass.
@xBloodXGusherx11 ай бұрын
I see where you got the idea because Mako was escorting around Wu but lets be real here..that was not realistic. Mako did it out of duty which turned into sympathy and then finally friendship. Mako is a STRAIGHT man who felt sorry for Wu in the end. Sometimes the fans let their wishful thinking become fact...you guys are reaching. Look at Mako, he is a guy to the core. There was never any indication of him being attracted to any other men in this entire series. He dated 2 women.. This is why people call FanCannons weird because some of you take one idea and run with it then play victim when other CRITICISE said fan cannons. I personally would not like to even see it happen Cannon wise because again there was never any real supporting reasons and 2 men on screen is not my cup of tea. HOWEVER, if Mako from jump gave off these vibes he was into other dudes, I would def be open to believing that story could play out because the writing itself was there to support the eventual Mako + Wu. At first I was not open to the idea of Korra and Asami but they literately make sense again because this entire season built upon it. If there is another Avatar show, I think the time frame within the world would make sense for this very topic to play out. I would imagine it could be early as 1955 to late as 1970 being that the Legends of Korra takes place in a 1920's time frame. @@dwell7315
@dwell731511 ай бұрын
@@xBloodXGusherx I mean....as several other comments have pointed out, the reason Korra and Asami were so all-of-a-sudden was because Nickelodeon didn't let them have actual subtext and buildup. There are little clues, like either of them blushing when the other compliments them in seasons 3 and 4, Korra only responding to Asami's letter when she's bedridden, etc. but they weren't allowed to actually show the relationship building. "Mako dated 2 girls" yeah and Korra and Asami both dated (or at least went on a date) with 2 guys before they got together. Bisexual people and the concept of compulsory heterosexuality exist ya'know. I will say, I really didn't like how the entirety of Team Avatar date each other and several outside people (mostly Bolin's girlfriends: Ginger, Eska, etc) throughout the entire show, I get that this group of characters is a bit older that Atla's Team Avatar but it just made the whole group feel kinda weird. That being said, I at least will/would not "play victim" if someone doesn't agree that Mako x Wu could happen, I agree that there's much less development there even compared to Korrasami, but seeing potential subtext or sub-subtext behind their friendship and commenting on it also shouldn't garner immediate criticism either. It's not a crime for me to see this unique rivals-to-friends relationship between two characters and think "huh, that could be interesting if the writers took it beyond just friendship" because, you know, enemies/rivals to lovers is a massive trope. And I KNOW if the writers had replaced Wu with an Earth Kingdom princess and run the story EXACTLY the same, people would be drooling over the potential relationship with Mako and no one would bat an eye.
