People keep leaving this comment everytime, but both Katara and Toph were very clear, they were there to guide Korra in the process, but wether or not she got better it was up to her, to say that it was them who healed Korra it's to take a lot from her, all she went trough, all she fought, all she suffer, all that self discovery journey, it just doesnt sound fair.

This was such a strong episode. Loved the way how Korra finally got over her mental problem by the one who created in the first place. That was some beautiful writing.
@BiG-JuPO1O110 ай бұрын
Yet people said Korra recovering PTSD took this long was trash writing. I'm so glad the writers went with more of realistic approach when it comes to mental illness, because in the reality people don't recover in a day or months. It takes years to recover or even make progress. For Korra to say no she won't forget what has happened to her, but she finally accepted what has happened to allow her to move on to become stronger person really allows me to relate to Korra in my opinion.
@michaellancia4510 ай бұрын
@@BiG-JuPO1O1how is it realistic to confront the person who put you to have mental trauma and ptsd and being told to trust in him in order to recover since not a single person in a realistic approach would ever do that
@BiG-JuPO1O110 ай бұрын
@@michaellancia45 Never said Korra way of recovering is for everyone. The message is basically saying facing your fears and stop dwelling in the past in order for you to move on to live life. There always life afterwards and accept what has happened in order to grow from it. Which is basically what Toph told Korra. The realistic part it took Korra three years to actually recover, she may not forget what has happened to her but she learns to live with it to help her become stronger person was the realistic part. For Korra journey facing Zaheer was needed for her to understand he no longer a threat to her which in some cases people do face their roots of their lowest point of life. For example people who afraid of dogs due to bad experiences in their early life. Some people actually end up liking dogs again once they're reintroduce to dogs again. The list goes on, everyone recovers differently their low points of life. With most cartoons we never seen any main characters suffer from trauma, usually they forget about it in unrealistic way all in one episode. That why LOK broke that cycle to display something different and really shows human side of being the Avatar.
@controlman749010 ай бұрын
@@michaellancia45 Because Zaheer was literally the only person who could help her get better and compared to Kuvira he was the lesser between two evil's. Zaheer is a good example of being forced to work with one enemy to take down a bigger enemy.
@michaelgarrett1392 ай бұрын
@@BiG-JuPO1O1it was trash. The show was telling us the entire time she was dealing with mental issues after the trauma, then she meets toph and her ptsd is lingering cuz of metal in her blood, then shes fixed, but not really cuz when she fights shes not just rusty but shes still traumatized mentally. So which is? Mental or metal in the blood? And shes not even good until the end of the season? Its stupid. Korra is unlikable. Period. Theres a reason LoK fans are a completely separate group of fans than atla fans, and theres like 10x more atla fans than korra ones, andddd theres barely any crossover. Atla fans do not like korra.

You’re totally right, Zaheer wasn’t really evil and I also wished a lot for his redemption. Actually, besides Unalaq, there’s no really evil villain in Korra. Even Asami’s father, they were all just hurting. That’s also why it hit me so much when Tarlok exploded that boat for example. And I’m so happy you guys are also enjoying book 4. There’s a lot to take for life from this storyline :)
@sethtedder723910 ай бұрын
People who are hurting can be evil, or not. That doesn't change the consequences of their actions. If the intended consequences of their actions were entirely or largely evil, then they were evil.
@GeovanedeJesus10 ай бұрын
@@sethtedder7239 that’s totally not what I said, and in the end you said the same as I, just in a different way. Specially because I was talking about characters of the show, not people in real life.

@@GeovanedeJesus You said "Zaheer wasn't really evil" and "besides Unalaq, there's no really evil villain in Korra." That's exactly what you said, and neither statement is correct. All the villains in Korra were evil, full stop. Nuance is expected and does not preclude that fact.

Never forget what Raava said, as the avatar Korra can control and harness all the spiritual energy which makes sense vecause she is part spirit, just like Iroh said she can literally change the world around her if she lets her light spirit out
@coleyjervase10 ай бұрын
Raava also sounded so proud of her too when she said “I have always been inside of you” and Korra needed that I think because if she couldn’t connect to the spirit world and meditate and even connect with Raava, who knows what would have been going through korra’s mind there, she may have even felt like she failed Raava or lost her connection to her like she did the past lives before.

I had to bite my tongue when you guys mentioned Zaheer maybe coming back this season before. All because I knew this episode was coming and its one of my favorites. Zaheer is the most complicated and fleshed out "villain" ever. Toph was right on how all the bad guys wanted, in a way, good things, they just became fanatical and lost their way. Zaheer was always about freedom for all. He hated the false feeling the leaders gave and felt the governments were evil. In that sense he was never actually a bad guy. It was his actions following his views that lead him down the dark path to a bad guy. He seems to regret his decisions, acknowledging he gained the power to fly, but is chained for life now. This was such a powerful episode because it showed how even those who were bad guys could still do good. He will pay for what he has done to people and Korra, but its amazing he humbled enough to be willing to help Korra. So beautiful.
