Polly was right regarding the situation with Changretta's son imo. Arthur and John were both on opposite extremes. Arthur was too submissive, John too aggressive. When Tommy sided with John I feel like he wasn't seeing as clearly. It's like he wants to prove that he's not soft and weak even when he's a father and a husband now as that Russian reminded him, but it ended up backfiring and hurting him more

Spartan along with some of the other comments, what happened was that they were given 1/12 of the language and so when she was able to prove to the Chinese president that she knew something she couldn't have known he knew she learned something important and so it started pretty much world, peace, and all the countries of the world coming together. On top of that, she wrote a book about the language so that anyone who wanted to learn, will eventually know the language and know the future. when time is nonlinear, it means you potentially can experience your whole life at the same time or you go experience different moments in your life like if you’re taking a trip

Some things you need to remember about this series. First, This is a true story. These people are all real people and these are the real events, though there were a few historic mistakes. As for peoples reaction to the war. You have to remember, this was a war like our generations have never seen. We've grown up with small conflicts, not war. And, at the time, Europe had been at war for several years. And Japan was taking over the Pacific. And the Japanese had just bombed Pearl Harbor. So that's why so many volunteered right away.

Russian President Putin is an old school KGB guy and wants to put the Soviet Union back together. It's one of the reasons Russia invaded Ukraine. He runs the country the same way the Soviets did. Stealing all the money, shitting on it's people and throwing lies about how great and powerful Russia is. It's biting him in the ass in Ukraine and will be his downfall. The debt to truth will be paid.

The Priest and the MP that Tommy was talking with, work for Churchill. Churchill wants to back the Russian Aristocracy and their fight (which never happened) with the Communist Russians. But Churchill can not be seen to be taking sides for political reasons. He wants Tommy to steal the Tanks and sell them to the Russians. That is the "job" that Churchill wants Tommy to do and is the "work" he had planned for him when he saved Tommy's life in that field. It is also why the priest doesn't want Tommy to talk to Ada as she was involved with the Communists.

The guy with the accent was a cockney, a native of East London, traditionally one born within hearing of Bow Bells. Ie Cockney rhyming slang, Half inch = Pinch, aka steal & Having a bath = having a laugh, Aka joking if you think u'r.. in this case taking the guy's souvenir...

I really liked that little scene, with that young soldier turning first after two seconds thinking, because he just wanted to go home. Really taking the decision away from the officer in this moment.

You guys will Love the entire Series and you'll really come to Know so many of the soldiers you've begun to meet already. Only a Series like this could offer such magnificent character development! Wish to offer a bit of color-commentary about the motivations of those you've met here so far. You're looking at a generation of people born mostly between 1911 and 1922. These men and their families have either lived through or at least Know of the effects of a pandemic and a worldwide conflict suffered during WW-1. They've ALL suffered through the Great Depression of 1929 >>, and they've come together as citizens since FDR became POTUS in 1932, seeing the end of Prohibition, the coming-out of FX of the Depression and the promise that the U.S. would remain Neutral in the face of the "winds of war" that have been growing uglier since the end of the previous war and the rise of Hitler/Mussolini/Franco & Nationalism/Fascism in Europe in the 1930s >> along with the spread of barbaric militarism by Japan against China/Southeast Asia & the Pacific Region during the same period. By the time Japan attacks Pearl Harbor 12/07/1941, the declaration of war stirs virtually Every American to respond by either taking Defense-Plant-work or flat out Volunteering for the Military...because American citizens now Knew they could no longer "sit it out" as the world burned and to exact revenge for being attacked. This would explain why some who were So willing to now fight felt driven to suicide when told they were "4-Fs," unsuited to defend their homes/families/Nation. "Band of Brothers" reveals the general quality of character of the people who would become known as "The Greatest Generation." And if it hasn't already occurred, the very name, "Band of Brothers," refers to Shakespeare's play "Henry V" and the speech the King gave to inspire his vastly outnumbered troops mere hours before the Battle of Agincourt in French Normandy of October, 1415; the same general area where the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944 will occur. Enjoy the Series! 👍

I'm curious if and how the Holocaust is teached about in Australia. Forgive me but you seemed so clueless. The Nazis wanted to exterminate all Jewish people, erase them from this world. They dehumanzied them, and built a whole industry to destroy them. You asked many times about reasons why one was killed. They didn't need a reason.

The idea that the giant didn’t have a weapon going to War always bothered the fuck out of me … it’s the beginning of the lazy story writing even though the episode is so good It’s the details that they don’t have in the books they just start making up that unwinds this Christ they had weapons before If he just grappled a damn tree he could of destroyed the shield wall

I remember Tommy saying promising Grace that they'll be "no guns in the house". This show has some bittersweet ironies. A testament to such a great script. I love the difference in Tommy this episode in his meetings. Usually, he is sharp and focused. Calm and cold. In this episode, he is disinterested and almost disgusted. Feeling like he's acting to the blow of the whistles again. From Sabini and Arthur, to the Oddfellows, is quite the jump in how dangerous and connected they are. Is Tommy realizing that no matter how far from the mud he gets, there's always someone above to put him back there?

The thing a lot of people don't get from the war between the 13 and the Capitol is that both wants what the other has, so they don't want to fully destroy each other. The 13 wants the power the Capitol has, they only start working with the districts because the population of the district had a decease that make then infertil, so they need the other districts for reproduction. And the Capitol wants the armament that the 13 has. So they destroy the districts in the middle ground, use then to get what they want. The government of 13 are not saviors they're just more of the same, pretending to be on the districts side.
