I wish I could go to that show,I was trained by an older gentleman with a Case engine at my dad's gas and steam show ,loved the power and the smells of steam power,good luck,was able to run a load of oats with his guidance

Kory, I am so proud of you for creating this incredible 150. It is a priceless gem. I would be biting my nails having it travelling on the highways. I know it is being done right but so many traction engines have been destroyed doing that. Your engine is something to be proud of. It is a great asset for the world of traction engines.

Impressive, Kory! I don't know how that trailer is able to withstand the weight and size of that massive machine. Appreciate your willingness to take the 150 out on the road so many others can see and enjoy it. Safe travels to and from Wisconsin!

That trailer is low hope it does not get stuck on a RR crossing.

Been following the story of your 150 for quite a while - and i finally got to see this gargantuan machine move! Extraordinary! Great timing too, just a few days ago on 02 August, i joined the case family when I drove home my new-to-me 1959 Case 311B! Cheers! JD

You guys make it look so easy! Having the right tools for the job is a big part, but it's still not a piece of cake to load and unload these monsters!

Thanks for the insight Kory. Yeah, that's the big drawback to having and moving big toys! It takes an army of equipment and personal just to move it to the various exhibits. But we do appreciate all that you go through to let us see it.

A delicate process, but I wouldn't expect anything less. After all, the build itself was a delicate and time consuming process. Can't wait to see it reunite with the land of CASE this weekend! See you there, Saturday!

What a truly incredible machine you all have built. I wish you gentlemen were able to make to the east coast here in Kinzer Pennsylvania to 75th anniversary threshermans show at Ruff and Tumble this year. Would have been a unbelievable site to many over this way that love steam. Thank you for bringing this machine to life once again

Kory, what is the possibility of running the engine on compressed air, via a industrial portable compressor with a long hose attack to it, just for loading purpose. Maybe not possible but just wondering. Love that awesome machine, 👍👍🇺🇲
@MichaelEricMenk7 ай бұрын
Jay Leno uses compressed air to move his steam tractor in and out of storage.

I think I’d still winch it just to be able to go super slow. I probably would use compressed air to use the power steering though.
@thomaserixton466210 ай бұрын
Couldn't you also engage the clutch so when the pulley spins it'll drive the power steering?

Honestly might have been easier to just find some rocks to use as ramps. I really dont understand why someone would put squishy old wood to ramp a 70 thousand pound ish tractor made of cast iron and steel but it sure looked cool to watch it turn to spaghettis! They sure brought the right truck though. Out of curiosity how pancaked together was all that wood after all was said and done because it looks to be one solid chunk of spaghettis now lol. Last thing I promise and I do not know if this has already been touched on or not but approximately how many man hours went into this gorgeous engines reconstruction?
@capnkwick42866 ай бұрын
You may want to consider a temporary mount on the centerline for a green laser. It would help on ensuring you're back up straight.
@bcbloc0210 ай бұрын
Could you not plumb a little gasoline air compressor into the steering circuit and use it to operate the steering?
@myronhorvathsk10 ай бұрын
Hey Kory, couldn’t you run the engine to give you power steering off of compressed air? I know it would take a big compressor to get her up to pressure. And I’m not sure how many CFM would be needed to run it for steering. Probably not a practical idea or you’d have done it.

Common to use compressed air to operate steam equipment when steaming isn’t practical. Imagine that could have allowed it to be driven onto the trailer instead of this laborious process.
@stevenbeach7487 ай бұрын
Need to go super slow. I’m sure you’ve seen equipment slide off of trailers while they’re loading or unloading. This this barely fits on the trailer anyway and with steel wheels it’s no joke. I’d take my time to after building this from scratch.

Planning on making the 2 Hour Trip up there on Saturday as it's probably the closest to home it will ever be for me unless it makes it to Edgerton Wisc some time which would be half the distance. Followed The Build on SmokStak since the beginning, and then on Facebook and through the KZbin videos but seeing it In Person has been a Goal of mine since Day One of the Planning Stages. Missing Our Own Local Show at Freeport IL just to see THIS.
