Yes friendship needs effort...but sometimes people do need time alone to solve their problems or cope up with life. It doesn't mean that you are not valuing the friend but it means that you are valuing yourself and trying to become emotionally independent too. Being mentally independent is as important as it is to have a friend to rely on for on difficult situations. So I think Namrata is right here.

I think both are right in their own way. Muskan:s stance that one sided relationships don't last is absolutely right. At the same time the other perspective that friendship comes without any bondages and expectations and is the easiest is also true - as long as the parties involved respect and love each other and don't take each other for granted

That is a BS. I have decades of friendship and due to our schedule, sometimes we didn't talk to each other for months. But still as close as we used to be whenever one of us reaches out or when we meet in person. Demanding communication or making other obliged to other party is beyond selfish.

I stand with Muskan. Friendship does require effort and it can never be a one-sided relationship. I'm not in talking terms with my best friend of more than 20 years. We were childhood besties. But, I realized, she only knocks on me when she has problems to share. Trust me, I have always made myself available even in late nights over phone to her so that she could pour out but when it comes to my issues, I never find her by my side and when I tell her this, she says why do you expect.. We all need to be alone sometimes. It's hard to open up to someone about all of your problems, it's so difficult to talk about something like that. But I also understand the friend who was upset about the fact that her friend didn't talk about her problems with her. She was so invested in the relationship of their friendship. She needed her when she lost her job. When you can't give advice, it feels good to even have someone to talk about it too.

Friendship should be unconditional. I have this kind of close friend and we had intuition if any one of not connecting and facing any problems. So don't wait for asking help and in need we knows that only this friend can understand her situation and support each other. So no need to count who is doing more efforts to keep relationship.

According to me a true friendship needs efforts. A true friendship means a friendship without any jealousy, where don't have to be mean and without any competition. A true friend is one who is always with you in your ups & downs. Aapke good days mai toh sab aapke saath hote hai lakin sacha dost wohi hai joh aapke bad days mai aapke saath khada rahe. According to this story Namrata is right and this problem is not only with the introverts but can be with anyone. We sometime don't share our problems with our best friend kyunki hum unhe pareshaan karna chahte hai. Hum unse seacrets toh share kar lete kyunki scerets toh best friend ke saath hi share kiye jaate hai na, but kabhi-kabaar problems nahi share karte kyunki hume pata hai humare dukh se woh bhi dukhi ho jayenge aur hum apne best friend ko dukhi nahi dekh sakte aur nahi dukhi kar sakte hi. After all we love them. Aur agar aapka saacha dost aapse apni problems naa share kare yah phir kisi aur se share kare toh never think ki she is no more with you. Aapka woh dost 10 logo ke beech mai bhi aake aapke baare mai hi soonch raha hoga aur agar kisi ne aapke are mai kuch seeda bhola toh use wahi sabak sikhayega. Because "TRUE FRIENDSHIP NEVER DIES".

I have done the same with my closest friend. I had problems in life and I had to retreat. But I told him beforehand. He understood I needed that time. We were in touch less frequently during that time and now we are back gradually. We are great friends. Two important things.. One, I told him I needed 'me time'. Second, he understood that.

Sooo, sort of something happened to me few years back....And this is prolly the most relatable content of Life Tak for me, so I want to share my experience in brief....my case was different tho...My best friend just ignored me all of a sudden...It was just class 8...she got new friends in her tuitions, and behaved with me as a stranger...in the beginning I became upset, but later I stabilized myself and moved on...now we are in 12...in between we went through those 2 years of pandemic, our 1st board exams and all...now few months back, suddenly she called me and apologized for that ignorance...Her version was that now she has realised how much that could have hurted me....She told, that for her attachments are something which can happen now and end up the next moment, nothing to give effort in it. Then I told her my version, that is, for me, attachments take time to build up and strengthen and need efforts to be there...even if it's best friendship, the minimum amount of effort, atleast one text a week or two calls a month is needed...cause nothing could achieved effortlessly in life....In my case, my friendship, rather best friendship ended even after her apology, cause we discovered that our vibes and mentality are totally opposite, neither of us likes each other's choices or supports each other's decision....But in this vast world, any two person if are moving into a relationship, be it friendship, or anything else, I will say, a minimum effort is always needed from both ends to keep a balance....But ofcourse, sometimes a private space is needed away from the world, closest to the self....there we might eliminate even our best friends, but if they are true best friends, later we should again bring them back and mend up everything...cause friendship is a too precious bond to lose....❤

True friendship doesn't call for explanations. Some of us don't want to unload our problems unless we feel that the other person can help. Some of us may even be going through depression. True friends can tell when the other person is feeling low and accept it or try to change their feelings.

Like any other relationship, friendship also needs to nurtured. Commitment and communication from both sides is essential. But that said, if there has been very less communication between the friends for reasons both have, then they should not carry any grudges and they should pick up the threads from where they had left. Friendship is perhaps the only relationship which we develop absolutely voluntarily. But, it's also the most vulnerable relationship as people can move on from a friendship more easily than other relationships (esp those we are related to by birth or marriage). IMO, friendship should be nurtured with as much effort as any other relationship. So, here I agree with Muskaan. But I also understand Namrata's PoV, as for introverts it's not easy to open up about their personal life so easily, even with their best friend. As in all healthy relationships, friendship too requires mutual trust n genuine concern for the other's wellbeing. But, it's a pity that in these modern times, even friendships have become very transactional, almost business like.

Even Muskan needed a support....her problem was too big! Namrata is introvert but Muskan wasn't. She needed Namrata's support. And the most important reason why Namrata was wrong is that she didn't even replied to her texts! And obviously, friendship is not the easiest relationship. No relationship at all is the easiest! Every relationship needs dedication. And what if your best friend leaves you? Not everyone would be so hurt as he/she would be it was break up. I don't know what goes inside an introvert's mind. All I know is that best friend is the person in front of whom, you will never ever feel hesitant. Best friend is equal to mutual secret diary for me. Trust me, if you are knowingly absent during a break down situation of your best friend, you are not his/her best friend. No matter how sad you are, you will share your feelings with your best friend and stand by him/her if he/she is in trouble at the same time. And I am so lucky that I have got three jewels. And my mother is my best too😄😄🥰🥰 One of my three best friends, called me from her hostel(mobile phones were not allowed in her hostel and studentswere allowed to call their family on Sundays only and their was a time limit. She found time to call me!)! She belongs from muslim community and I am hindu. Hindu-Muslim is a very sensitive topic. We even had undergone fights on religious issues. But the most sensitive thing got failed to break our friendship. We are still best friends. One of them was always their when I needed someone close beside me during my hostel life in Kota(I didn't had to even call her to come to me! She was always their on her own whenever I told her that I was well). And the third one is my oldest true friend. She is my Doraemon. I think 'Doraemon' name is enough to explain what she means to me and what she does for me. And my mother being the coolest mom ever is my best friend. Only a few can have her/his parent as a secret diary. My mom knows everything about me☺☺😇😇

Loyalty has to be there in friendship, that is when it will last for long. But sometimes, people get involved in their own matters and might not be able to stay in touch(for a short duration) and that is also perfectly fine. My best friend and myself have a really close bond and we have been best buddies since 2003(almost 18 years) but the understanding is so good that sometimes when she gets occupied with her stuff, she is unable to keep in touch and same thing happens with me as well.

Both are right respectfully, as both of their lives and experiences are different, but personally I would rely Namrata's side, because when someone goes through personal challenges, you either shut everyone out, in order to heal, or you become extremely social.
