XD Though I guess altered bounce physics would have been neat. 2:05 Plant syringe is creepy. Also, the Underground music is in fact from Dr. Mario. Though slightly more abstract than overworld. 6:55 Don't know what some of those things are, either. 10:40 Unfamiliar to me. 8:45 Uh... the point of the pipe is for people that don't know how to no-clip glitch. :D Though the checkerboard graphics could get a bit distracting (like the pipe entrances), it's a nice hack with traditional levels and a memorable theme. Good times!

Hitting a flagpole sets $0E to #4, that causes mario to slide down. After sliding to the bottom the game sets $0E to #5, so mario moves to the castle. Normal gameplay (reading inputs from controller) is $0E set to #8. To explain what's going with the two flagpoles at 13:19. After spawning the castle object, it also spawns an enemy with ID $#31, the star flag. If there is a star flag on screen and mario walks into a block from the side, with $0E set to #5, the timer starts counting down. So what happens here is there is two star flags, the game starts updating the time and score on screen, does something wrong and it trashes the PPU memory (graphics memory) with some data. Sometimes you even get numbers on the screen! Now to answer your question. If you have mario with $0E set to #5 walk into another flagpole, it does what you'd expect. Sets $0E to #4, again and everything continues as normal, finishing the level (but of course if there is a star flag loaded and a block that mario can walk into)
