The Milky Way is a tremendous structure in space containing billions of stars and trillions of planets. In their turn, these objects are surrounded by gigantic clouds of interstellar dust and scorching hot gas streams. By mutually interacting, all these components make up the bizarre and fascinating picture called galaxy. And today we invite you on an exciting journey across it.

Yet another 60 yo here! ' 63 was indeed a great year 😅 This is what I've learned; The more I know, the more I realize I DON'T know! I grew up very near Yerkes Observatory (Geneva Observatory) and been there dozens of times. The scientists still sponsor viewing nights. I had my first 60x reflector Tscope at 9yo. There's a never ending and fascinating store of knowledge in the universe. I never get bored watching and listening to these expertly produced videos. I do sometimes wonder if indeed we're all just living in a simulation. Nice to see many other 60 yo's here. ✌🏻To us (US) all.

For anyone who does not know, any increase or decrease in temperature scale is exactly the same for both Kelvin and Celsius, they simply zero at a different point. Zero Kelvin is absolute zero while zero Celsius is the freezing point of water (conditional). A 100 degree increase for either would be identical.

Makes one wonder if there are intelligent beings on a planet somewhere out in the vastness of this galaxy hundreds or thousands of light-years away from us watching a similar documentary, except it's with our Sun and planets being discussed as some of the new discoveries they have recently made where life might be found.
@SeattlePioneer
@SeattlePioneer Жыл бұрын
Seems unlikely. We have been looking for and listening for signs of intelligent life off the earth for half a century or more. There could have been radio waves from planets thousands of light years away that we might have intercepted, had they existed. But they don't. to observe them. In the same time, we have observed signs of the Big Bang billions of years ago. Logic and reason suggests there is nothing there for us to find. Beginning half a century ago, Carl Sagan and his friends postulated the existance of intelligent life as a matter of probability among trillions of stars ---and further postulated that it was just necessary to LISTEN We carries out that experiment as describe by Carl Sagan and friends, and have found nothing. That scientific theory must be rejected since the predicted result has never been found.
