Koss Porta Pro X vs KSC75X Comparison

I figured I'd do another one of these comparisons for those who are curious about which budget Koss to buy. Ehh, you win either way honestly. Ran both of them off of a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. Again, leave your question down below. Hope it helps!

For the absolute best in sound and comfort get the yaxi pads. Then put the ksc75 on a Portapro headband. The sound and comfort is outstanding. The sound quality is so rich and luscious and big. Bass is tight and firm on point. So much fun using these. I had Sennheiser hd600 and Hifi man 400i and a Beyerdamics dt770 buy the Ksc75 are so pleasing I don't use my other headphones that much.

Hey I would love a review of the Koss UR40. They have the same driver as the KSC75X but are over ear, open back headphones, Loving the reviews and discussion, keep them coming!

@@chuckolatte600 yeah not alot of people talk about them, I haven't heard them myself but am interested in them. Most people say Portapros sound better than them.

Porta pros need an amp in my opinion, they scale better, ksc75s do not. Also porta pros get better detail/mids with yaxi pads. The ksc75s are fatiguing after awhile... porta pro soundstage is really good, again with yaxi... results in way less cloudiness.

I detached the clip on my ksc75 and bent it towards the driver then attached them back, now the loose ends of the clips r touching the foam and that did improve the bass for me and yeah I'm powering them through the lg v20

Great review! Do you notice a sound difference between the original porta pro and the massdrop version? I've just received the original porta pro and I don't know why but I prefer the way they sound when I put them on the KSC75X ear clip. I also found them more comfortable.

Honestly, haven't heard the regular porta pros. I don't think they sound any different though. It's more about the features each offer and colors lol

@@chuckolatte600 Yes you're surely right. There is a misunderstanding in my previous message. I wanted to say that I prefer their sound over my KSC75X. But finally I choosen to return my porta pro because it hurt my ears ^^'

Can I take them off and put them on the KSC75 shell? I know you can do the opposite, so this should also work, right? I love not having a headband. :)

How did you get the straight 3.5 mm plug for the ksc75x? I noticed in your other video review of the ksc75x, you had the bent version one and the mic position was way lower. I think i prefer this one since the mic is closer up and would be closer to the mouth.

Mmm I think you're looking at the porta pro's cable plug. Theirs is straight, while the KSC75X's is bent

the saddest thing is how the portapros is more punchy than my k612 and edition XS from hifiman lol. Chucko, ma guy, how do you compare the ''slam'' from focals against the ''slam'' of portapros? (i'm not talking about detail, nor resolution, nor anything, just the capability of doing this dynamic punch)

@Jamie Barnhill I'm not saying it competes, but i know what you're talking about, they're fun. Like, of course the very realness, with bizarre detail of something like XS, or the contrasts of K612 pro with brightness, punchyness and wideness, is pretty much something hard to find below it's prices points for their propourses, but Portapro do this lower mid fullness and punchyness, like that ''TUM, TUM'' very physical sensation, that i really miss for things like future funk or songs that need this slap and body. And i don't know where to find a open back with these characteristics. Incredible mids and lower mids. It's bloated, but who cares, just EQ a bit. Really. They have not the best soundstaging, but competent! and the ''physical'' aspect of it is what it got me. And my curiosity about ''the punchyness nature of Focals'' is more or less like this. It's like that? How's it?

Check out the Yaxi pads for Portapros, I'm really keen on trying them out for better comfort but I'm worried it'll change the sound signature

Pure porta pro is still my fav. No mods. Maaaaybe yaxi pads. Ksc75 is fine too but the bass. What's the point of music with no bass
