sent x2hr back to amazon today, not only the sound wasnt great with lack of base and harsh trebles but main gripe was comfort, pad material was irritating and headband too loose leaving cups too low. Bought at a sale for £65 and even at that low price i wouldnt recommend them.

This is like comparing a truck to a 2 door convertible. They are totally different headphones. They arent in the same category. Aside from price...they dont have much in common. The reviewer doesnt really even point this out. its like Mcdonalds vs Taco bell. Sure they are cheap fast food but one sells tacos and other burgers. Planar headphones vs dynamic ones. Truck vs hot hatchback...why are you even doing it?

Original X2 had better cable, X2HR is stiff garbage. As soon as I got my pair I just plugged in the old X2 cable and left the stock one in the box.

Bro...I just can't stop feeling the M50x is muddy buddies. Listening to them always makes me feel slooooow. I keep buying them and returning them because I like even the 30x so much more. I just can't find a way to enjoy the 50. I'll never get this. I fell for the m50x hype and honestly, every time I listen to them, they just sound gross to me. Thanks for the review. I bought it recently, perfect for me with low budget. He400 Se needs ampilifier to run it and i heard they have sound issue in long term use.

I was looking for this... And than for a conparison between a Hifiman Arya Stealth Magnet versus a Stax sr 404 or 407 or something, lets say something which would be used for around 500 bucks. And also the amps EF500 vs the ones from Stax... I am curious but I think the Arya has better bass... I look for audiophile analogue natural sound....

Nice review...what about loudness in BT mode, some people reported that they are not loud enough even on max volume...I know that those can go deadly loud (132-133db) wired on some good amp, but can't find any data of the amplifier power inside cups. It's lame that manufactures that make bt headphones does not provide much info about amplifiers inside, at least power so u can estimate output SPL.

i missed it last year, but this year got to go. i didn't get to try out all the best gear since i spent my time listening to all the stuff i have always want to try before purchasing. however, it was absolutely worth it since i tried the beyer dt1990, sennheiser 600, focals, hifimans, blessing 3, sendy aivas, and campfire iems. all products that i had considered purchasing, but i had not tried beforehand, simply going by reviews and graphs. if they decide to bring canjam back to dallas, i'll definitely be more prepared next time around and try out all the halo products since i missed pretty much all of them. all in all, it was an amazing experience finally getting to actually hear everything instead of just reading reviews about them. and lastly, i found an iem i loved, but would have dismissed based on the graph and reviews: the kiwi ears orchestra lite. i got one on the way.

I owned the mm500 they had no bass and they were not comfortable at all.

I tried them all. But for fast, dynamic, hard hitting bass, Electrostatic, ribbon or AMT do not cut it. My Denon ah d7200 is the best so far for me. The Meze Liric bass is impossibly big and deep. But the bass is very sloppy compared to the Denon. I demoed the Heddphone 2 on two different Violectric amplifiers. On one it didn't sound right. And the Hedd 2 was still very difficult to power, low volume. So Heddphone 2 is very particular with amplification. In two weeks I will go to an event again in my hometown. Try some yet to announce headphones. I am a basshead. But I also have Stax and the Sennheiser 660s.

The mids on my HiFiMan planars was a huge let down though I loved the overall detail. I started playing tunes through ALC on my laptop and the built in EQ did the trick.

Also the Warwick acoustic golden sound edition was a bit of a miss for us, we preferred the non golden sound edition, though I'm not sure it's worth the price. I was on the wait list for the HE-1 but never got the call. And I was on the wait list 15 minutes into the show Saturday 😂 so people weren't missing those appointments

I liked the omega, but the bass was lacking in the sub bass region. Overall I'd add it to my collection but it's not a do it all headphone. It would be a specific tool for a specific job in my fleet.

The he 1 is cool in terms of audio i dont really believe is worth 60,000 dollars but i do believe can sound really good i see it more like a piece of jewelry like a luxurious watch. More than anything.
