I think you need some context, IIT(Indian Institute of Technology) is engineering and technology institution, just like MIT. and Kota is the hub for the students who prepares for IIT entrance exam. There are thousands of coaching classes who charge very high fees. The whole series in Black & white, because it represents the colorless lives of students.

KOTA, the city, the factory comes with pros and cons... It definitely gives you the environment to study, personally I've been there, i could only see students all around discussing questions while I'm out for jogging in the morning, at the mess table, at the playground( in talwandi, where I used to live), for some it gets motivating but unfortunately for some the situation becomes traumatic and such students don't have a place to relax there mind, also since the fee amount is large, bigger gets the expectations of parents and relatives that pressurize the students more, every night the second question to the child is "what are you're scores" "when is your next test" "you know son, we've trusted you and hence invested whole life savings upon you, don't let us down" ... Once you're left behind than your peers in terms of syllabus and scores, you're done for the year and wait for next year. It's true, kota never leaves your soul.

1) JEE, NEET and CUET are 3 papers which 12th passed students give in India 2) toughness wise JEE>NEET>CUET 3)competition wise NEET>JEE>CUET 4)NEET is for getting into medical college 5)JEE is for getting into engineering college 6)CUET is for getting into any degree besides these like history, pol science and so on 7)Now in this series u will be focusing on JEE which is for engineering and JEE is 2 staged exam 1 is mains and another one is advanced. 8)u heard IIT , it is similar to MIT and produces prodigies and for getting into IIT u have to crack JEE mains and advance but if u only crack mains then fail to clear the cut off of advance paper then u will get normal engineering college but not IIT which are very prestigious 9)JEE mains happens in january and april and if any student is able to clear the cut off then he can appear for advance which happens at end of may and about 0.9 million students give this exam and govt seats in engineering colleges are 0.2 million(govt seats) and in IITs are 16k 10)Now about CUET so 1.3 million students give this exam and this exam is pretty basic everyone gets a college here 11)Now about NEET which shivangi(Uday's Gf is preparing for).. u get 1 attempt in 1 year and it happens in may and 2.5 million students give this exam to get into 52k government seats like IITs medical field have AIIIMS which have only 2k seats thats why competition is higher here but level of paper is higher in JEE 12)now about reservation so in every field beside selection on merit people are given birth based privilage also like i will explain u using NEET so for 52k govt seats 2.4 million students compete but 65% seats are reserved for people from lower caste and only 35% seats are based on merit ... 27% seats are given to OBC(other backward classes), 10% seats are given to EWS(economically weaker section), 15% and 7.5% seats are given to ST (scheduled tribe) and SC (scheduled caste ), and about 5% seats are given to pwd(person with disability) so only 35% of total doctors produced in india are based on merit rest are based on their birth privilage .. 13)and for u i will list the cut offs too like for General(upper caste) out of 720 u neet 610 minimum .. for OBC u need 600 minimum.. for SC/ST u will get college even in 450-500 ... and for PWD u have to just pass the exam and passing marks are 150 so this is how it works 14) u will see AIR 1 written in vaibhav's room and that means all india rank 1

You can't understand the pressure there from family, coaching, studies only those who has been to Kota can understand that feeling. For 2 years student has to be cut out from family, relatives, friends and can't even enjoy festivals. Kota is a just different experience from whole world.

In india if you have found friends in engg college hostels or place like kota than they will be friends for life that will be guranteed,my father isnt an iitan but he cleared pet(pre engg test)this test is for govt engg colleges apart from iit,my father has his friends from hostel,they talk regularly,and if something happens they will be their in a single call

Yep, the whole series is in black and white which represents the life of those students. Devoid of fun, hope, essence of teenage life. Here are some additional info which will help you understand the series:- the indian education systme follows the pattern of L.K.G U.K.G, 1-8, 9-10(1st boards which is conducted by the respective educational boards all over the india, this is 1st time a student give thier final examination which is not conducted by the school, currently it follows the % sys, as in the ep vaibhav scored 90% in his 10th/boards) Now, after 10th a student has to chose between three streams which are Science(physics, chem, maths, bio), Commerce or Arts/Humanities. the majority of students chose science because it has more scope or that is what believed in the society. Now science stream can further be classified into PCM(physics chem maths), PCB(physics chem bio), PCMB(physics chem maths bio) + 1 lang subj and 1 skill based subj for their high school i.e 11th and 12th class. same as 10th class 12th class is a boards too i.e conducted by educational boards not the school. Now lets enter the rat race/ competitive exams. Competitive exams are basically entrance exams for a variety of collages. for eg for pcm students there is JEE(Joint Entrance exam) which is entrance test for engineering collages. for pcb there is NEET for medical collages. For enginering the no.1 collages in india are IITs (entrance test -> jee advance) total seats arnd 16000 , no of ppl that appear for exam arnd 10-15 lakh every year for meidcal its AIIMS total seats arnd 2000, no of ppl that appear for exam arnd 25 lakh every year these competitve exams include syllabus of 11th & 12th class + some extra topics now some students prepare for the exams with their schools ( that is they go to school every day and self study) -> regular students some students totally focus on these exams don't go to school i.e they join a coaching -> dummy students Now best coachings for Jee and neet is in kota as its is known as educatinal hub hence students enroll themselves in these coaching in hope of getting a seat into their desired collage. This series shows how a student goes through these imp phases of his life through the eys of vaibhav (prep for jee/iit) there are still a lot of info i'll drop them in next ep. this will be enough for today thanks for reading ❤❤

u have to correct some info mate for IIT there are 16k seats not 8k and only 1.1 million students apply not 2-2.5 million and for medical 2.5 million students apply not 3 million and u could also include total govt seats in both sectors like for engineering there are 0.2 million gov seats and for medical there are 52k govt seats and yes only 0.15 million students get to give jee advance for iit because only 0.15 million out of 0.9 million clear JEE mains
