This is by far one of my favorite dramas. I actually knew about this drama a year ago from a fanfiction based off of the plot of this drama, and it’s funny to think that a year later, I edited and posted the same drama onto this youtube channel. The interpretation I can give is that this whole drama is about healing. For seven years, Mei and her friends suffered the pain of losing Kota, an occurrence which has forever changed their lives. Kota’s reappearance was a sign of closure and acceptance for his death, as some (Iori and Mei) still can’t forgive themselves for the things that happened. Healing is the whole theme of the drama, and it’s a really beautiful story. The only thing I really wanted them to expand more on was the case of the mayor and how Iori put them down. It seemed kind of rushed, which is reasonable considering it only has 8 episodes, with 30 minutes each ep. The reason why I chose River of Tears as the song for this edit is because everything about the song more or less relates to the friend group. They’ve been drowning in the river of tears for so long, and the memories are still stored inside a drawer that they can’t go back or open. And with Kota coming back, they’ve been pulled out of that river and resurfaced after seven years. This whole drama is like a metaphor that means something along the lines of finding peace within yourself after a painful event and finally moving on and looking forward. As Kota said, we have eyes to look forward, not to look back. :) While this drama isn’t like Coffee and Vanilla or Cursed in Love, I truly hope that this edit can be appreciated and will convince people to watch it because this is such a hidden gem! ^__^

No, he didn't come back in the end but he was there in their memories. I should say it's a happy ending as it is a healing drama. You can see their big smile in the end , that means they all are happy now, they all got their happiness back which they lost 7 years ago and now can move forward happily without any regrets.
