Im actually very shocked that anyone actually replied to you comment with sympathies! As although Im pretty certain none of them really care & Im sure none of them would bother to help someone in need (speaking from experience) its still nice to see they actually read & noticed that part of your comment. So you saying your sick & in pain? If so may I ask what is your health issue? I myself have been through about 15 years of serious health issues & complete screaming agony due to chronic cluster migraines (3-4 agonizing migraines EVERY day) which are better since I was put on serious pain killers but the pain killers bring their own horrible issues as well as I started on Endone (Oxycodone) & was moved onto damn Methadone as its a strong pain killer but doesnt get you high like Oxycondone does but, Methadone is known by the people that are on it or have been on it as "Liquid Handcuffs" or a "Liquid Dog Chain" as it completely controls your life, I myself have to drive 15 mins (both ways so 30 mins) Every 2 days to pick up my methadone & after having to do this now for 13 YEARS I can tell you its hell! I mean, yes its better than being in screaming agony for most of every day but you just never get a break & most people & even most scumbag doctors (most doctors are usless, contradicting, lying & seriously evil scumbags these days, or at least 95% of them are here in Australia) will treat someone like a scumbag drug addict as soon as they hear or see methadone written down or said even if they read that you have NEVER used drugs in your life & they can see in your history/records that you are ONLY on methadone for Pain Management & unlike people that are on methadone for drug use, my dosage only goes UP, not down so they way Im going I feel like I will be on it forever! So hopefully you are far from being in the same horrible situation & hopefully in comparison to me you will look lucky & might fell better knowing that... Hopefully :)

I like the final spiel here! I’ve reflected on it for four years, and think that this list deserves some sort of revisitation! Outer Wilds I think moves up, it’s an all timer! As is Disco Elysium (though you said as much at the very end hehe) I’ve seen folks revisit Control pretty consistently since this year and it seems to have maintained its prestige! However personally Fire Emblem: Three Houses maybe be the longest lasting entry on this list. If I ever break my leg and am infirmed for a month, I think I could justify a fourth play-through and feel pretty good about it!

I think Outer Wilds will certainly go down as a classic in the canon. Maybe not right now but eventually. The game had such an impact on me and many others and I definitely consider it one of the best games ever, its one of the only times I've thought about (and still do) getting a tattoo of a piece of media i enjoy. I see your point about it shrinking over time, and i really hope and think it will not, I can see it and Kentucky Route Zero becoming much more notable within the next 5 to 10 years, especially with an OW switch port supposedly coming out soon.

I agree with just about everything you said regarding the game of the year, BUT... It's still nice to see lists like that because it can give people a good idea for games to check out that they may otherwise have not known about or written off for some reason. I had written off Control and knew very little about it, but hearing you categorize it as a Metroid Prime-Like and compliment it so vigorously has me very interested. That's really all it is. A way to find out about some good games you may have missed.
@DeltathRiylaan4 жыл бұрын
I had an extremely similar thought about Sekiro. It's a great game today, but by the very nature of its existence, it's just a cog in an interative process. A step on the ladder of progress that is the design style of From Software. Certain games, like Fire Emblem: Three House or Baba Is You will always have a special place in the hearts of many gamers for what makes the special and unique. From Software games are just generally better than their predecessors and make many gamers not interested in looking back, because what's on offer currently consistently, in virtually all categories, overshadows everything before it.
@janogabor76974 жыл бұрын
@Deltath Riylaan I think you are underselling what Sekiro brought to the table. It isn't part of the itterative process like the: DeS-> Ds1->BB->Ds3 which all feel like the same design getting perfected, but more like a big side step and experimentation which hopefully in turn comes back and gets integrated in some way into that itterative process. Sekiro in many ways felt like a side step for Fromsoftware to look at their design in a fresh way. They simplified the design to their bare components and found ways to make fresh spins on them. What I think Tim Rogers is saying, is that Sekiro shows they still have ways to grow and Sekiro shows that Fromsoftware is only getting started. Which is why he thinks the best 3 Fromsoftware game is yet to come out and I agree. Also I think there is a reason to play all of them even if the following ones are technicaly better put together, the world design of Dark Souls 1 is still legendary, the atmosphere and feel of Bloodborne still makes it my favourite one.

I have chronic cluster headaches. It’s a form of torture at least it feels like it. The fear of having the worst pain in my life come for 1-2 hrs only to disappear leaving me exhausted but able to work. Then I would awake the next night and that pulsing pain behind the left eye would bring me to tears. I would literally sob and beg for it to stop. The neighbors called a welfare check at 2am cuz they thought I had an intruder I was pleading with. After 3 years and between 8-13 separate cluster events, the last being most painful, I got help. several catscan/MRIs Later Docs prescribed a freaking blood pressure medication. First time in life a pill worked definitely. No doubt. Have not had a cluster event since. So thankful that a pill could solve my dire problem. I hope there is something like that for ya. Changed my life. I feel lucky now. But if they couldn’t help me...
