Nope, he is braver with people and going for walks. He can't see out is what bothers him, he jumps right into the rivers because he can see the terrain. Hana is not brave just naive.

@Andrea You are right. Kotaro is just being cautious that’s all. He seems to calculate everything just to be safe or if it’s worth pursuing, etc. But when it comes to being brave Kotaro is far far more brave than Hana and we’ve seen that on numerous occasions such as Kotaro and Hana’s adventures at the river where Kotaro was swimming like a dolphin 🐬 to his meeting with the pug. Whenever they go out Hana is always being near Kotaro for protection. Hana, on the other hand, if you were to compare her to people she’s like the kind of person that likes to be reckless. They just do it without even thinking about it. Some people mistake that for being brave and courageous, but on a closer look, it’s more like being stupid and reckless. Hana is like the common soldier that just heads on. Kotaro is a general.
