Animosity is the type of thing that only grows strong with time. It festers and builds. Given enough time, it takes on a personality of its own. The first release from King of the Dot's latest event, Flatline, was an exercise in pent up hostility. LA's Dizaster and New York's DNA have been waiting for the chance to face off with each other for close to a year, after a series of unfortunate cancellations delayed their battle from its originally planned date. When KOTD stepped in to make the long awaited struggle happen, the hype machine kicked into overdrive. Co-hosted by none other than Toronto's own Drake, who put up $3000 of his own money for the battle on the spot, this epic showdown was an instant classic. A marathon display of punches and personals, nothing was held back as Diz and DNA went for the throat with nearly 40 minutes of material between the two of them. As for the winner? That's for the fans to decide, as this battle marks the second round of KOTD's So You Think You Can Judge competition which asks fans to record a video response giving their opinion on the battle. The responsibility is in the hands of the fans to decide - who came out on top in this highly anticipated and hugely exciting headline event?

KotD, you guys absolutely have the best production crew in the rap battle circuit (cameramen, sound guys, video editors, etc); in this battle it seemed like there was some experimental shit going on with both the filming and editing. The result was very cinematic, almost 8 Mile-era angles, tight shots and color filters. You guys should really let your crew get more creative more often and see what happens, because I feel like it made this more engaging and raw to watch. Great shit.

US/Canada are oversaturated with content and the underground hip hop scene only has so much participation. Dizaster is often called Arab, Iranian, Turkish, Persian, etc etc because of his middle eastern heritage. He is from Lebanon but he tends to roll with the Arabic jokes and middle eastern jokes. He adopts being from Persia in the rebuttal. In the movie Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time, there's a situation where some girl sacrifices herself and becomes trapped in a sand glass. Later on, a development happens where a dagger is used to rewind time and travel thru time. There may be additional time references from the video game or other movies/shows around the story also. Basically, in the prince of Persia story, whoever holds the dagger has special abilities. The dagger holder being able to control time, is a premise of the story. The Prince of Persia is able to control time. "Since he wants to talk about time Then we'll talk about time, when I roll up outside and hurt ya But you're DNA, you never click-clack the burner You never commit the murder See, I do what I want with the time limits, I'll just extend them further See this world's mine, I control time, that's why they call me the Prince of Persia" DNA complaining about Dizaster's time limits and Diz drops that rebuttal about controlling time based on a movie character from the middle east, near his heritage. The reason why DNA won this battle is simply for the fact that he managed to keep up with Dizaster. Dizaster's disses were so hot they should've put anyone in flames, however DNA's responses were so good it was almost admirable. Especially those lines when he closes with "wheel chair out the blue they gonna call it the avatar," my brother and I were like; 'Damn, that's how you come back like a nigga." I think Dizaster had the better raps but DNA had admirable comebacks that almost made you forget about Dizaster's creativity. Instead, make you think; "Wow, what a comeback!"

+inno195 2/1 Diz, his first 2 rounds completely buried DNA regardless of if he came back from it with moderate composure(In between pauses while looking like he was about to cry). His only fire round was 3 the rest of it was barely on par with Dizaster at best, then had to make him call Canadian's bitches in front of an audience of Canadian's like a little girl when we knew what the response would be. Battlers gonna battle and no punches pulled but shit like that is pretty weak and I'm Canadian. Dizaster took this hands down in my opinion.

It's why a lot of battle rappers would rather go second because when you're the rebuttal er you DO gain delivery points from how you respond to a verse. I declare this as the peak of battle rap. There will never be a battle greater than this one. Crazy bars and crazy deliveries. Written and freestyle rebuttals were just crazy!!! Disses are clear, not overly complicated like they are today. I remember this was the second battle rap I watched from the acapella era and I enjoyed it at the time being a newcomer. If rap stayed this way, it would've gotten mainstream I think. Today, most writtens fall flat cause you have to pay too much attention and really read into it to appreciate it.
