Nothing wrong with self-improvement, and I liked this battle, but Khan buried himself by being too much of an apologist and for playing it safe. Here's the thing, marginalized or not, battle rap is a even playing field, so if you treat certain groups of people as a protected class or off limit group then you aren't treating them equally and defeating your own purpose.

What they edited out was Dizaster snatching the file away from SK, Diz tore the file to pieces BEFORE SK had begun his 2nd round. This is why SK pulls out his phone. I’m not defending SK, I’m just pointing out what was removed from the original video, explaining why he had a file in his hand, then didn’t, and why he was on his phone.

Thomas S Because Diz is an aggressive asshole and he knew he could do that to SK and get away with it lol, which is exactly what happened. The room was dead quiet when it happened, with the exception of a gasp or two. Everyone just stared in shock before Dizaster said something along the lines of “It’s not assault, I didn’t touch him, I just took the file from his hands”. SK pulled his phone out and Diz said “Yeah, reach for your phone we want you to reach for your phone”. SK replied: “I’m pulling up what was in the file man”. Organik shook his head in disbelief and disappointment, probably pissed off at both of them (Diz for ripping the file and SK for depending on his file/cell phone).

Soul Khan's material was thought provoking & insightful. It would have been great in a spoken word type of setting, but this is battle rap and this was an absolutely abysmal performance by battle rap standards. His lack of flow was clearly evident, you couldn't even call it rapping, and he made a huge miscalculation if he thought this was material that the fanbase would enjoy. What made is so much worse was the sheer length of it - that's what took it from simply being a "bad battle" to an absolute EPIC FAIL. I hope Khan does return, because this was the type of performance that will have a huge impact on how he's remembered, which is a shame in my opinion.

Yea, this was a disappointment when you've heard Khan at his best. Definitely suffering from battle rap rust. Battles are all about the crowd reaction. I still think Khan beat Cortez blow for blow content wise but Cortez had home field advantage and got the crowd on his side. When Khan is good, he's great. Cyphers, songs, battles, period. This just wasn't one of those instances. Rappers like Diz and Daylyt have had their share of flops (and there's been a LOT of em). They're both still big names and have done their thing respectively.

Drupp12 Really? From what I understand, he was pretty crucial when it came to grind time’s heyday, setting up big battles and shit. Not to mention, he was one of the faces of the league during that time. I mean, he’s gotta be one of the first people most people think of when they think of grind time. He’s been involved in the game for so many years, both as a battler (during the WRC days) and promoter/“behind the scenes” guy. Didn’t he even manage disaster for a while? It’s fine if u don’t like him, but I don’t think his impact on the game can be questioned. I bet even Smack (the legend of all legends in this shit) would agree.
