It's already been said but upon watching this again... Illmacs 3rd was crazy. What an unusual and effective angle. This verse and his 3rd in one of his battles in Australia (forget which one) where he does a U.S. government scheme are proof of his progress. He is so slept on in terms of his writing ability. That being said I think this was a real close battle. Bigg K killed it. Two different, but very effective approaches. A perfect example of how there's room in battle rap, and hip hop as a whole for many many different approaches to writing and overall content. I hate seeing comments like "So and so is a weirdo." or "So and so only does gun bars."... Blah blah blah. We all have different backgrounds and influences and our upbringing or basis for creativity shouldn't be looked at as a limitation, but a blessing. It's through variety and a difference of perspectives that true progress and growth are achieved.

Thank you for finally being one of the first posts that I was able to read entirely without thinking "This guys an fn moron". It felt good to see someone comment while actually understanding/knowing something about battles or the scene lol. It's far too often that I skim through the comments and wish to punch kiddies in the face for the comments they make, sometimes I literally shake my head while reading them lol. Lol, not to mention the fact that you spoke like an adult or with maturity and did not use slang or the infamous "nigga" when they are both white lol. Again, my brain thanks you..

joslingc Thanks man, appreciate it. The funny thing to me about dismissive comments when it comes to battles is how ironic it all is. Battle rap, and all rap music for that matter, is basically poetry. It's art. It takes creativity and a sharp mind to write good bars, and a certain amount of charisma and stage presence to deliver them effectively,regardless of the topic. So when people either A; dismiss one rapper for being a nerd, wierdo, backpacker etc. or B; dismiss another rapper for being nothing but gun bars, drug references, aggression, etc. they are really missing the big picture. The difference between a "nerd" rapper and a "street" rapper is minimal. I understand people identifying with certain subject matter based on what they relate to, but to dismiss the talent or not even recognize the talent it takes to do this (even if you don't identify with it) is sad.

Yes, DNA & Charlie Clips said it best. You can win a battle 1-2 with a knockout in a single round. This knockout more than likely has to happen in the 3rd round. I believe this is possible, rare but possible.
