***** im far from Caucasian my friend and I still disagree that Smack is the best battle platform, namely BCUZ of all their gun bars, I can only hear so many gun bars.. KOTD/Grindtime battlers are far more clever as you stated, superior wit, more multi syllabic schemes, and complex punches... Smack rappers use increasingly simple set ups, though their following punches are still pretty good.. Not to mention vocabulary, smack rappers are only better when it comes to aggression, ferocity, and likelihood of starting a fight at the battle.. Plus, since when did personals or references to past battles take the place of metaphors & similes Also, to your point of minorities having it more difficult to get ahead, absolutely true.. But idc if whiteboys can rap better, they honestly seem to respect the true essence of rap battling, which doesnt include T-Rex and Big T's asinine amount of gun references and lack of variety.. Finally, I agree that more of these battles should take place on unbiased grounds cuz when NY dudes come to LA or vice versa, or when smack visit KOTD the fan bias is tremendous and obvious.. But tell me why we havent seen any KOTD head to SMACK?? Cuz they realize they dont fit in and wouldnt be given a fair shot, idk if smack caters toward a black audience, it caters toward a hood audience, and most ppl feel blacks identify with the hood more than other cultures, once we change that, we fix battle rap... along with a few other things lol.. PowderHeight I couldnt agree with you more. Its like people are afraid to admit that Smack aint the best league. Gun Bar after Guna Bar gets old so quick. Its not even like ther unique either. The setups are always so damn simple, and then they drop a semi good AK reference and the crowd goes nuts. Its what happens when they Think of the Punch first, and cant come up with anything clever to set it up with. Its so much more impressive when someone has substance in their entire scheme. Set-up, Simile, Word-Play, Meta4s, and follow with a Hard Punch all while delivering it in a Unique way. I dont think half of battle rap fans even kno what it takes to write a good Bar, or even what a good Bar is. Most fans just Favor certain Rappers and think whatever they say is fresh because of their delivery and how they act, or their popularity. I think Illmac has the best Pen in the game. His style is like a complex Algorithm. His Word Play is so good. But thats just my preference. I like a lot of different cats, but they have to have good pen game. Like actually know how to write. I dont think many Smack rappers even kno how to structure their Bars on paper. Its all by ear. And killerghostwriter is trying to say that KOTD rapper dont have clever bars, when it couldnt be more wrong. All the Top Tier cats from KOTD have crazy complex Bars. Ive rarely ever heard a Smack rapper say something that i didnt understand right away. Basic Bars all day.

NePdXploit I couldnt have explained better myself.. I agree 100% with everything you said.. From ppl thinking of punches first, to an appreciation for more complex bars with similes/metas.. Rapping is supposed to have branched off from poetry, but I dont think most smack fans know the true difference btwn metas and similes and likely end up thinking all their basic similes are metaphors.. Smack rappers dont use any of the elements before them to write a good bar, just boring set ups and punches.. I never doubted that GT/KOTD was the superior battle platform with Smack a close 2nd (there's a few other platforms but they dont compare to these two).. btw, when I first started watching battle raps in like '05-06, I was mesmerized by Illmaculate and Thesaurus bcuz nobody could fuck with those guys.. competition has since improved in battle rap but I'll never forget the vocabulary those two used when setting up punches and metas.. They werent selling swag, they were showcasing talent
