saw this place first time in the summer of 2005 - fascinating and also a truly amazing story about the rescued sailors who initiated the habit of throwing stones into the sea as a thanks for surviving and thereby creating the tiny islet on which the monastery was built - or am I wrong here? I think that was the story we we were told about this place ..
