I drove there from Poland two years ago. Initially we were planning to visit Montenegro and Albania, because we thought that such a small country like Montenegro wouldn't have that much to offer. We were so wrong and we spent wonderful two weeks in only Montenegro. One of the local people told us a legend that when God was creating the world he dropped a little bit of all the most beautiful things that there were in Montenegro. Beautiful images Ryan!

You pick some interesting off the beaten path places to visit. Montenegro seems to have all the beauty of the Adriatic without the big crowds of tourists that some of the Croatian cities have , much less Venice. It's good to see them an independent nation again as they were until the post World War I creation of Yugoslavia. You have seen a great variety of the world's places.

excellently described. I would add that Tivat has the best microclimate in every sense. Especially enjoyment for families, active vacations and hedonism. Preseason and postseason are the best options. Hiking on the Vrmac, tennis courts, open gym, padel courts, water sports, enjoying resorts, cafes with the most delicious food, beautiful nature. Humane place, according to man. We stayed for a month in Mia Casa apartments, a little separated from the center and yet close (with a view of the bay). Beautiful, spacious, we only hear crickets and enjoy the shade of the kiwi. Tivat, grade 10+

yooo lets go more exposure for Montenegro 🇲🇪 I went here in July 2016 and it was SOOOO hot but super awesome - very happy to see every place I visited is included in this video: Kotor, Perast, Budva, Lake Skadar, Sveti Stefan and the St. Nedjelja church. still definitely not seen all of it, I gotta go back one day to see Durmitor, that place looks crazy :O

Hey folks. I have been in Montenegro in August 2017, it was beautiful but soooo crowded at the coast, in Kotor, at the river Tara. And it was not that hyped than now. Hard to find any parking spaces, loud music everywhere at the beaches, people laying towel on towel. So I recommend going there outside of the main holiday season.

Hi...we are either going to visit Montenegro or Croatia at the end of June/early July. I realize this is the front end of high season but we do not have a choice given some of my daugher's travel arrangements. I'd like to come up with a 7-10 day or so itinerary. Beginning research -- day trips from a homebase versus staying 3 places, transportation--rent my own car or get a guide. Any/all tips welcome and appreciated.

I’ve being to Montenegro for a music festival and one thing missing is it’s version of the Copacabana beach. 7 or more km of sand. The local community lacks infrastructure but I loved it.

How to best get around, how many places did you stay overnight vs. day trips, etc. Typical American traveler--limited time and want to balance hiking, exploring the culture/history and maybe some R&R.
