Something you likely didnt know about Bendak's blaster is you can get two of them. After you defeat Twitch in the dueling ring DON'T talk to the hutt. Instead go and talk to Bendak right away and then talk to the hutt. When the hutt tells you to come back later, leave the cantina and return to talk to him and start the death match. After beating Bendak speak with the hutt and he will give you his blaster as normal. Speak to the hutt again for Twitch payout and he will give you a second Bendak blaster. I do this every play through.

Ah, I remember doing a blaster run. It was really fun. Used Jolee and Mission as my party members. Jolee and the main character would spam force whirlwind to incapacitate targets (and making sure to not fully upgrade the skill to its final tier because the final tier counts as stun and certain enemies are immune to stun), and then the MC and Mission would light them up with flurry sneak attack dual pistols.

I'm going through a scoundrel/guardian build that uses mostly but not exclusively blasters. It's fun letting the jedi do all the heavy fighting while casting insanity to reap the benefits of sneak attack. Dark side, of course. In KOTOR II blasters become stupid powerful. You get feats for close quarters blaster combat, and if you make Mira and Atton blaster specialists you could annihilate almost every enemy.

Using blasters is only as much of a hinderance as your force powers are restricted I honestly think. I used speed which gives attacks and defense which makes all builds almost unbeatable. Maybe another challenge to use 0 force next time😄

Oh my god yeah Manaan's underwater section was suuuuch a drag when I played the game. I was confused bc I always heard people praising Manaan before I picked it up, but I guess they just meant the city part. Anyway, nice video, glad I happened across it!

It’s so pretty, when you first get there, you go around this gorgeous city in the ocean, do some fun politicking. Then you fight zombies, alright that’s cool. Then you get in the diving suit and step into the ocean, only to realize you’re in for a bad time 😢

I did this on kotor 2, the blasters in that game are on crack! I had 2 fully upgraded heavy mandalorian blasters, (they were named but i forgot who they belonged too) and simply shredded everything. It was insanely op, until i got to the final fight... that took me like 10 times. I could handle her in the first form, but once she calls the 3 lightsabers, it got tricky. I ended up just running away and taking pot shots until only 1 remained, then i reigned down holy fire upon it, lol.

Nice video bro! I figured blasters only would be possible in KOTOR 1, albeit more difficult to do than in KOTOR 2 (since 2 offers way more support for blaster builds than 1 does). It’s cool to see your thought process and strategy for navigating the more challenging run of the Jedi Gunman in the first game.

Now do it on Impossible difficulty. XD I'm currently going through as a Sniper build. Juhanni kicked my ass. She would one hit me. I managed to defeat her by kiting her with force speed and pot shotting her till she dropped. I'm fully anticipating not being able to finish the game honestly. I seriously doubt I'll manage to defeat Malak, but I'll give it my best shot. (Pun intended) Manaan! Omg, so true. I hate that part. XD

Not sure if I’ll return to do it again I’m currently going through a melee only using no force power buffs or attacks and a force only KOTOR 2 run. That was also the goal of the blaster run was I allowed buffs but no offensive force powers.Give it your best shot!

Been doing a run of this game on twitch, and chat has decreed that I go darkside, and be a suave gun slinger. I was kinda worried that jedi defenses would wreck me later, but this video has shown me otherwise. They are choosing how I level, so its not optimal, but its good to know i'll still be quite formidable at the end. Great video dood!

I have a similar idea for a run through of not choosing my own upgrades and playing a bad auto build! But you’ll do good dark side gets the raw damage upgrade once you reach full alignment.

I recall doing this when I played KOTOR 1 back in the day, went with warrior and mained blaster rifles. If I recall everything went fine up until the final level of the game and the final boss, but by that point I'd figured out just how useful spamming stims, shields, and grenades can be and managed to brute-force the final boss that way. I think I also did make use of force powers to some extent to support laying down the dakka but I don't recall what jedi class I picked nor what powers I favored. I mostly recall the two biggest flaws with KOTOR 1 being: 1. You get so many perks as a warrior that the perk rate for all jedi classes feels like such a letdown in comparison. 2. Skill investment in melee if I recall doesn't help you switch to lightsabers? I don't think at least, which if so seems like a big hindrance to actually building a character around maining lightsabers later in the game.

Absolutely every class is limited in feat progression vs a warrior. I avoided using mines and grenades to maintain the blaster only but I was mass spamming health, stims, and passive force powers.

i personally use smuggler for the broken sneak attack feats then jedi counselor for insanity/force choke for the stuns i found choke had better success vs certain bosses, also even when full light side insanity is cheaper then stasis field, for some reason its verry satisfying gunning down Malek, take that Meat bag also i started with 16 con and put two level ups into it making it 18 gear compensated for other stats, but i ended up being a tank, seriously i had insane health

I definitely toyed with the use of the sneak attack and stealth up to enemies. However I capped myself to not use any force powers that cause any damage or status to the enemies as a mass stun would allow me to gun down enemies with no problem. But that would definitely be fun to utilize all available avenues with blasters!

@@logeeman8 that's why kotor 1 and 2(rcm) are my favorite games, so many ways to play the game. right now in kotor 2 restored content mod i'm playing a male ds force storm spammer, and a ls female blaster jedi consoler/jedi watchman

Blaster jedi builds feel like more of a novelty in kotor 1. Sure they can be made to work but why? In kotor 2 they are merchants of death. Mando disintegrators have like a 15-20 threat range when you add a keen upgrade to em. Watchman/Assassins get precision and all ranks of sneak attack. Its the kotor 1 build on steroids.

I’ve heard there are KOTOR 1 mods that make the blasters more viable but KOTOR 2 makes blasters super viable in the base game. I’ll eventually work my way to KOTOR 2 build playthroughs and experience what they have to offer!

Merry Christmas back to you. I did equip the Baragwins to HK and Canderous at the Star Forge, but I wanted my character to have base game weapons! Using the blaster rifle would give me some feats back and heavy blaster big soldier build would also be good 👍

Love how in KOTOR 2 the tutorial level has a space walk part, but the speed is cranked to “turbo” Obsidian also didn’t like the Manaan underwater section 😂

Interesting video but I really disagree with the Sentinel class choice, definitely should have gone with Guardian IMO, even Consular would have been better. The higher vitality per level up more or less evens out the the Sentinels +3 constitution LS mastery bonus. The Guardian gets the highest Attack bonus with level ups increasing chances to hit. More feats throughout the level up process. Finally if you went down the dark side path then you get 1-8 damage bonus from Dark side mastery so your DPS goes up considerably. The Consular passives on the other hand would have given you higher chances for force attacks to stun enemies with insanity, destroy droid etc which means you trigger the Soundrells sneak attack bonus damage when attacking enemies that are stunned.

I definitely think there is merit to the Guardian as well. The Consular passives wouldn't have helped me as I used no force attacks, be it a damage or just a stun. I only used passive buff force abilities. For the Guardian, I definitely could see the argument for that being better for the feats and built in health. I figured I could sacrifice the damage for the force immunities with the amount of money I was dumping into blasters the 1d8 would have helped some, but my will would be so low I would either get destroyed by force powers or use feats on saves even more. I was also shooting for a light side as my last playthrough was dark so with those together I went for it. I think it played out well, but the Guardian is absolutely just as good of a choice from a full overview perspective. I appreciate the challenge to my own. I would be interested in maybe running another as soldier/scoundrel -> guardian!

hi I want to do the same as you. However I decided to go for a dark guardian because of the additional physical dmg. I heard that should also apply to blasters. However dark side sucks because of the lack of healing. After that run I want to create a char with MAX con. and hitpoints. But that rund should takes lot of time because of my low damage.

I imagine the physical damage would still apply but I just opted for the higher health with the high dex to make it hard to kill and it would be easier than some extra damage points. Plus the force immunity made it hard not to choose for this since wisdom was low.

I just finnished a game using only blaster pistols and buffs with my main character, no other force powers. I used valor and speed in most difficult battles. Not so much challenge, cause I had jedis in my party, but I didn't need them much. I played in difficult difficulty, you seem to be playing at normal. My build was scout/consular att: 8,16,15,14,11,11. (I wanted granades and to repair hk-47). I finnished the game with 32 dexterity without buffs and adrenals after all the gear I bought. I don't know why you were only at 22? I think your blaster only challenge would be fun experiment, since I plan on using HK-47 all the time next playthrough.

I played at normal for this one as the blasters in KOTOR 1 aren’t as damage reliable in KOTOR 2 and I was running full party blasters. I would say I messed up by not having a good implant score. You most likely had it at 3 with the Gordulan reaction giving +4 dex and I had the +1 Con implant. The combat sensor head gear also gives +2 dex which I instead had circlet of Saresh for +5 wisdom. I ended with 22 in dex, con, and wis. Because I was constantly stacking force passives and allowed force healing. The higher dex would most likely lead to a better overall build!!

@logeeman8471 Cassius Fett's heavy pistol does some serious damage 6-19, 25% stun chance +5 attack modifier. I used that with sith assasin pistol 6-9, 1-10 ion damage, 50% stun chance +5 attack modifier. With rapid fire and master speed, I was blasting through everyone in late game.

@@TPacoustic I definitely don’t disagree with that sentiment whatsoever haha that’s why I immediately invested in Cassud Fetts pistol leaving Dantooine. I just didn’t focus heavily on Dex because I figured after hitting 6 the 2 wouldn’t make much of a difference if I invested in some extra Con and Wis to stack on force buffs. If you look at the strategy guide, if you have robes equipped, your max dex + any force boosts cap your defense bonus to +10 so with 6 dex and +4 from master speed and armor on top of the rode defense value I was only missing 2 potential defense. So I opted for further increasing my force pool.

@@logeeman8 I did figure out in late game that using master valor on top of 32 dexterity didn't do much difference. I don't use strategy guides, except for what gear to get. The reason why I commented was that IMO you wasted lot of attribute points in character buildup to get 18 dexterity. When you can get dexterity so easy with gear. Of course it makes Taris easier.

The manaan underwater slow walking area is pretty annoying. I find the space fighter battles to be bad. They were rough back in the day on the original x-box, but on mobile they are atrocious.

Space fighter was less bad and more of just a nuisance with the randomness and almost made you want to not travel freely between planets instead of just push through each planet without moving between.

It would be quite a challenge for sure. I would think its potentially possible maxing out Str, Con, and rest for Dex ignoring the rest. Going guardian and ensuring you have force speed on would help and nothing some stimulants cant help for boss fights. KOTOR 2 makes this way more viable however with feats to help it out!

is possible to mod the Mobile game . is simple just take override folder fron the pc in the game files and place on the mobile . i using a mod for fast walk underwater and space walk and the community patch fron some bugs and Dantoine cutsceme wn you suppose need training wt lightsaber not swords .

But of course. Have to make it a true challenge. I could have made Dantooine a bit easier if I would’ve cloned Bendak’s blaster and dual wielded those until I left to purchase the special weapons.

Playing in hard mode basicly, it always annoyed me how the game took choice away from you, and didn’t reward other play styles. Forget if gunslingers other then you learned better skills on it then you as well.
