The good ones remain. Hell, some people not only still play Daggerfall, but they improve it from many angles. A DOS game. Not so surprising, I guess. How old is chess?

Played an armoured Consular build a fair while back, which was rather effective with Feats like Duelling to boost defence. The Force powers still usable after equipping armour was enough to kill/disrupt the majority of the enemies I encountered, with teammates to soak damage and distract the enemy.

I’m currently doing a similar build, only mine is a Scoundrel Sentinel. Took me forever to beat the Taris missions but now I finally have gotten to use a lightsaber and the force for my main character.

Yeah, scoundrels are definitely squishy, but pair that with stasis field and just revel in all the sneak attack damage you can do!

In the first KOTOR, since there's a two-handed weapon glitch, I decided to use a double-blade with a dark side consular. It was a lot of fun. I usually go with two-handed weapons because I most often play with two single sabers.

Light side consular using dark powers is my favorite build! For KOTOR 1 My attributes were(+ is level up attributes) 9 STR, 14 DEX, 11 CON, 8 INT, 16+1 WIS, 16+4 CHA. Final KOTOR 1 attributes with force buffs, equipment, and stims was 20 STR, 33 DEX, 22 CON, 13 INT, 32 WIS, 28 CHA! Watching out for enemies using force breach is a must!

I've been contemplating doing a two lightsaber consular. I'll have to take a look at the pros and cons well ahead of time before I do. My thinking is much like you said, to use them for the extra attributes. I don't think I've ever kept the short lightsabers. With such a build I will definitely use one in the off-hand.

2 handed Counselor is OP if you save your levels till you become a jedi &spec yourself to use buffs & debuffs if you save your levels you can take all 3 feats in 2 handed when you level up as a jedi

From a mechanics standpoint, if you're making a ranged character there's literally 0 reason to put anything into strength, strength only governs melee and attack damage, iirc there aren't any strength based checks so having a negative isn't a penalty

Really fun idea with the dual sabers. I might have to try that at some point. I've just always gone single saber and dueling for characters that I don't plan on getting my damage from the saber with, but some variety sounds really cool.

I personally always go low charisma 10-12 and 10 Dex and then 10 intelligence so I can play a aggressive force playstyle. I tend to weave in and out of combat buffing / healing where needed maybe not the most optimal or best I find it fun. My point go into Strength,Wisdom, constitution mainly. Again how I play as consular as I hate spamming aggressive force powers I tend to buff when playing light

I know it has been over a year since you released this video and that it isn't meant to be too serious, just a nice frame for new players to grasp the concept of a consular. But Dexterity does replace strength for the percentage of likelihood to hit an enemy. So actually they can use a double bladed lightsaber or two single-handed lightsabers to great effect. When your dex is pretty high a high percentage of hits land, add them with force speed and flurry you could take out enemies pretty quickly. But if people are going for a more defensive build then a single lightsaber with critical plus works well. As a consular people could choose offensive force powers (damage ones) or go for the stun ones that allow them to get damage bonuses for sneak atk if they chose the scoundrel earlier on. I have played both ways and that's what makes this game so great. Any playstyle is doable if people lean into one style compared to being too spread out.

Only issue i have with the dex consular double bladed is malak just resists everything i dont understand it really i was playing on normal and he just resists it sll and kills me soo i dont know where insanity is supposed to come into it if im honest

Last time I replayed the game I wanted to try Jedi consular. Exactly like this, lot of force powers, dexterity, single lightsaber, dueling, melee finesse and mainly power attack and critical hit for close range. I immediately felt, "why didn't I try a consular sooner wow"? It's actually really reliable on many situations. Force storm and other AOE force powers just blast the minions on your way. The dex+ dualing makes you actually hard to hit, which change a lot the combat against tough opponents like bosses. And also the dex+finesse+dueling on power attack or critical hit deals actually good damage. There is also minor details such as using single lightsaber also allow you to save upgrades and good sabers for your teammates. And you don't need to find a good weapon for the second hand in order to get rid of the penalty for dual wielding. It's like the way of the poor when you're not too good at managing credits and upgrades early on haha. Overall a really solid and fun build and to mess around with ridiculous amount of force abilities while dodging strikes left and right.

Man. I just did a playthrough Scoundrel 8 Consular 12 And I was furious. I had 28 (+9) Wisdom and 18 (+4) Charisma! Save for my force powers, was +13! PLUS THIRTEEN! Malak resisted EVERYTHING, and not only did he do that, but one simple use of Force Breach, for some unexplained reason Force Immunity was doing JACK, SHIT - Bam, 4-5 turns of buffing gone in one turn. I managed to beat him - But it was by slurping hyper alacrity, strength, and stamina stims and using life support packs every 3/5 rounds. So basically all the building and heavily investing into the WIS and CHA for that Consular life, I mean it kind of cakewalked the tail-end of the GAME, but when it came to Malak, it was for absolutely nought, as I had to fight him basically like a guardian anyway. And by the end of it, the victory felt hollow. Though I had won the game, it felt like there was absolutely no tenable reason to ever be a light side (LS powers only) consular. Here is my advice. Don't f**king bother being a consular. Or at the very least, don't go Light Side and only use LS powers. You're just making it harder for yourself.

I won't lie, scoundrel is a pretty hard class for a beginner, and honestly I'm not an expert on scoundrel builds. You'll want to get some force powers like stasis field and force wave, anything that immobilizes an enemy allows you to land sneak attacks which is the bread and butter of a scoundrel. Other than that, toughness will be important just for some survivability, I'd go dueling due to lack of feats, and probably critical strike or flurry.

Doing a scoundrel with any class other than guardian in kotor 1 is fairly difficult, especually consular because you'll only have 120+constitution and toughness bonuses hp by the end of the game, as well as slow feat prog. When you pick a jedi class, you should probably do guardian and get master speed and stasis field (replace stasis with insanity if going dark side) asap in order to capitalize off your sneak attack bonus

Scoundrel on kotor 1 is doable if you like to stealth grenade, but it’s really all about taste and preference. If you choose a guardian class they rely more on Combat, if you choose a consular they rely more on force powers. It really doesn’t matter how you start out your play style as long as you know what your doing. For the skills I mostly use Treat Injury/Repair/Persuade/&Computer Use. Everything else is pretty much worthless. If I had to choose between Demolitions or Awareness I would pick Stealth, but all of the other skill pts that you put into are basically a waste, if you choose more than 1. Security is ok if you like to pick locks, but is also a waste because you have other characters like Mission, TM or HK droids that already do that. For the feats Two fighting weapons, Flurries, Jedi Master Defense, Implants, Toughness are the best ones. I also use Empathy & Conditioning for all my builds just for the +1 stay away from blasters and all the other guns on your main character because once you get to Dantooine most of your pts will be wasted on blasters instead of melee combat, which is basically a Jedi’s sole purpose anyway is with the lightsaber. Melee combat is a must.
