I heard it again and again, can't stop. The two octaves are like two singers. One is older, with more deep feelings, as if it were the memories of him, who has weathered all the storms of life. The other one is younger, with more subtle, tender and sensitive feelings. I like both of their singings.

I love teaching this piece to my students. It was nice to see another player not repeat the second section as well. Your recording is excellent, and I have already shared it with a student working on this piece. I really enjoy your tone and vibrato. Thank you, and bravo!

The double bass version (by Koussevitzky) was the first ever instrumental version of this piece. If you watch this, you'll understand that it is just a most natural thing. Double bass is actually an instrument which is very much asymptotic to human voice. The key point is, whether you can make it sing or not. Boguslaw is one of the few in the world, who can make it sing most beautifully. It was a pity that during the "romantic" period, few composers had a chance to hear such singing voices. It's time to correct it.

It is a really beautiful performance. Even my wife, who doesn't like the bass as a solo instrument because it doesn't have the right pitch, loved this performance. :)
