Track 4 on the CD and the first of the four battle themes. It's actually a bit long running at 8:11, but it's a wonderful song. Kikuta has this wonderful way with complex harmonies, it's truly a shame he hasn't done much work since this game.

aside from the fact the characters are meant to be from the british isles and ireland so the accents are far from accurate, but lets not let that ruin a good yarn eh?

@@Tubbs935 Yeah but tbh for a Japanese developer to put that much effort into a script in a language a majority of the native audience won’t understand is a lot. Yeah the accents aren’t right but I personally think it’s way better than a lot of contemporary games. Theater acting pairs much more naturally

Came here from the Majuular video. What a beautiful craftsmanship of a song, really alluring and enticing in it's own way, with a very subtle creepy undertone that's fitting of a horror game. Will definetly play the game when I have a spare time

As a person who stumbled on Koudelka looking through ISOs in the early 2010s and wondering why I had never heard of it, it just brings me such joy anytime brings attention to it. Great video from Majuular, it was only the second of his I've seen, but I started to rectify that.

I played this masterpiece last week and yesterday I finished it. I feel so empty right now, I spent a total of, more or less, 20h... I just love this theme, and Incantation Again (the boss battle). I fell in love with this incredible story. I put it on my Top 3 Games.

yeah! I really love the monsters, they look fuckin freaky. The battles, however, should've just felt more tense with how strange the monsters are designed. Some of the bosses, when they get up in your party's face, are really creepy and I feel like if there was just a little bit more "scary" design to the actual battles this game would be remembered way more by people...

@@MathewHaswell Machida has said in late 2015 he can't reveal any details about his new game he is working on. He is not using Kickstarter, he is not making a traditional RPG (refers to JRPG) which the minority cares about. But if he got the chance someday to make a Shadow Hearts with Judgement Ring features he would love to do it. He is now forced to make a mainstream RPG. There has been a rumor in 2015 that SIE was in talks with Aruze Group (Universal Japan) to negotiate on Shadow Hearts/Koudelka IP after Bloodborne got high praise for its dark Victorian setting and From Software's Miyazaki doesn't want to make games in the same setting. SIEJ's president, Atsushi Morita, was also manager on the first Shadow Hearts. There is a theory now: Mid-sized independent studios have tough times to stay independent due to growing dev costs for each gen. There is a possibility Sony has built a new studio behind the scenes for the Koudelka/Shadow Hearts staff. Fans have begged Sony for years to build a new studio in Japan which focus on RPGs (Traditional ones are dead to Sony, tho). Machida and Kato being freelancers last gen says a lot about having a studio again. And feelplus staff splitted up after the merging into AQ Interactive with Artoon. What Shawn Layden told a fan about new studios in Japan can't be revealed. He can't just say: "yes, we have one new studio in the works". But I think they are rebooting Koudelka/Shadow Hearts franchise to Sony marketing team's liking. Next gen will give us answers. It would be cool to see three studios in the future: JAPAN Studio, Polyphony Digital and Shadow Hearts studio. And there is no room for another RPG at JAPAN Studio if LocoRoco creator is now making a different RPG. (RaySpace).

@@Ominous-Xx He is not lazy, he has just newly founded STUDIO WILDROSE. That is a condition Sony (Japan Studio) has to collaborate with creators. Same thing happened to MediaVision, Matrix Software and Level-5. Heck, Sony even worked with creators behind Soul Blazer trilogy that was a new development team within Quintet as Shade. But we know The Granstream Saga was really bad, unfortunate. Action RPGs in 3D fell flat on PS1 due to technical limitations and Sony's Arc Entertainment's inexperience with 3D polygons after two amazing Arc The Lad games with G-craft. 2D overworlds were superior on PS1. Alundra says hi. When a creator sets up his own studio Sony has given them support financially. A insider said back in 2015 that SCE was in talks to get something done with it and it hadn't even started pre-production yet which explains lack of studio at the time. A new game that will replicate a darker Shadow Hearts. Unreal Engine 4 was introduced this gen in Japan and laid foundation for RPG devs for coming future. Sony's Japan Studio used Phyre Engine this gen and The Last Guardian was moved to Phyre Engine on PS4 with bad framerates. The reason why Japan Studio did only focus on small and very few games this gen. Toyama said to Archipel in 2018 that thanks to Unreal Engine Japanese devs can now create Japan-like images more flexible and bigger. It sets up for ambitious goals. He can return to horror instead of make these niche cartoony anime games. Japan was not prepared for the HD era when it happened. Senior vice president of Japan Studio, Allan Becker, said in 2017 they have several new titles in development that are being made with new technology in mind (Phyre Engine scrapped => hello Unreal Engine 4). Yes, even Astro Bot used Phyre Engine. They are starting to build the technology back up with PS4 in time for PS5 unlike PS2 to PS3 and PS3 to PS4. New titles use Unreal Engine 4 are for PS5.
