This is a compilation video featuring Olympic fencer Nikolay Kovalev from Russia. The video compares his attack during the 2008 season, specifically during the Olympics in Beijing, to how his attack is now, almost two seasons later. The first song is "Beat It", covered by Fallout Boy and John Mayer and the second song is Blue Bassanova by Bassa Nova

I know I'm bias from having trained under Nazlymov, but I love Russian Sabre fencing. Great break down.

I was at a brutal fencing tournament some weeks ago, the only person I won was a Danish girl who had made mincemeat of my coach, (Who is an awesome fencer, I think he was just off-tempo or something.) and a lot of other folks on my team. She was literally my last fight and I was so happy when I won her

@CrazyTom34 thanks! now the real test for me would be if you asked nazlymov and he said that he liked it. i have huge amounts of respect for him

@CyrusofChaos haha I think youtube is a little beyond him. Sadly I'm not in Columbus anymore, but Kovalev's attack was very much what Coach taught us, using the entire strip to force the pressure on the opponent's defense and force a mistake. Makes me miss fencing.

if someone changes some part of their game significantly enough to make another video out of it then probably
