Which Homologation Version of the Engine is it? Euro 5 map with Catalyzer (42hp) or the unsrestricted map w/o catalyzer (52hp) and different airbox as you put it in the description of your other video? What we can also see (hear) on the video is that the engine likes to be revved...and does not have the torque down below..than it "flies".....down below the engine is really sluggish and harsh to drive with the EU5 map. I had high expectations as i heard the Kove 450 Rally will be EU5 ready (because this bike would suit exactly my needs) but what i´ve read and heard from owners of the EU5 version is that they are disappointed with the driving behavior up to 3000rpm and overall power.....it does not even feel like 42hp...... It´s a great bike , don´t get me wrong but it´s a bit unfinished (espec. Eu5 Version). I´m still tempted....... I fully agree if it had a Honda badge especially at this price point it would sell like hell. But we are still waiting and waiting and.....

I have ridden the Euro 5 Kove and ist not that bad if you are Used to single cylinder bikes of that capacity. There is no problem with power its just a small displacement race bike. Its not an enduro bike either. If you expect the Grunt of a bigger single or Twin you will be disapointed. It Feels more like a 250 mx fourstroke with more Power. But its plenty fast if ridden like a rally bike

Thanks for showing this bike, most of the Chinese bikes I've seen were substandard compared to the Japanese/European Manufacturers. That said, as I've been researching for a dual sport, this is the 1st time I've seen this offering so I'm more than happy to give her a look. That way I won't wonder if I missed something after I buy..... peace

Interesting comparison of it being like the mod'd 300L but w/ a lot more power. That's saying something that has teeth & I can understand. I've not seen any of these in the US although I'm sure some are filtering in.

How are the vibrations from this bike compared to the KTM 690 and AJP PR7?
@PatchedBandit3 ай бұрын
Much lower vibrations on the Kove. Kove is closer to my CRF300 on vibrations than those big thumpers.

Hi PatchedBandit. Thanks for another very informative video. What do you think of the Kove 450 as an alternative to a modded (or even stock) Honda CRF300L? For general off-road exploring, twisty mountain roads and the odd higher speed run (no rallying planned)? I have briefly ridden the 56 hp Kove and loved the balance/handling and suspension. Engine is smooth at higher revs but maybe a little “clunky” when riding slower at lower revs? What’s your view?

CRF300L Definitely loses at any direct comparisons of these bikes. If the Kove was sold with a Honda badge nobody would even bother to compare them against each other. I would have a hard time buying the CRF again now that the Kove is available with everything needed straight from the box. Kove does still have some proving to do in customer service, parts availability, long term reliability etc. but the bike from few hours on the saddle feels awesome. In my opionion Kove is the best dualsport straight from the box on the market today for a few reasons: + Descent wind protection + Stability at higher speeds + Good adjustable stock suspension + Excellent ergos + Plenty of power to pull even on mountains where the CRF300 definitely is lacking. + Best fuel range compared to almost any bike let alone a dualsport + Feels much more nimble and light than it is on paper - Engine a bit more tricky at very low rpm's - CRF seat is a bit more comfortable - Dealer network is not exstensive at least here in Finland

@@PatchedBandit Indeed. Great package. In the few minutes I rode it I could certainly appreciate the agility, ergos, power and suspension. Availability in select markets seems fairly good and time will tell on long term reliability. Thank you for the insights!

Any video about the Kove 4350 Rally is interesting. Might be the first legendary bike form China. Günter/Nürnberg

On the face of it there is a lot to love about this one. Time will tell how long they are going to push this formula but I truly hope they will stick to this a long time.

Comparison to a drz400 might be closer

Hi, I think KZbin prefers longer videos for maximum ad amount/minutes so it could explain why short video would gain less views. Anyways I think the value of these performance tests comes later as you get more bikes tested and more data to compare between different bikes. Maybe try to incorporate these to the longer test videos as a separate segment. Good stuff nontheless
@PatchedBandit5 ай бұрын
True. This test was already in the quick ride but I wanted to release it as a separate episode too. Algo hates short videos as average view duration is very poor but I feel like this is interesting data that nobody is reporting so I’m still gonna do them 🫡

So... the answer is: Kove 450 rally is slower than 690. Thank you! But its sure that same weight and 23hp less... it can be better if you want but it cannot be faster !
@PatchedBandit4 күн бұрын
Personally as a bike I prefer the Kove but power goes to the 690 no doubt.
@advseeker5 ай бұрын
Huh though that I did bad job if 450 would have been faster 😅 luckily it was not
@PatchedBandit5 ай бұрын
Bit of a bait the title but it's pretty much the only bike I have tested on the channel that is an interesting comparison to this 😄
