My Kove arrives just before Christmas here in the UK. Having it delivered in the crate so I have something to unwrap other than socks! 😂. I bought it off the back of your videos Tyler as your enthusiast reviews of the bike just made me go for it. I’ll post some pics up on my channel when it arrives. What speed are you racing too? My 2015 500 exc running 14/50 gearing would run to nearly 100mph. It was definitely a faster and stronger running bike over a 2019 500 exc I tested. My '15 had the TPS clocked just a smidge, the screen end cap pulled out and the canister removed. That's it. No ecu mapping or aftermarket exhaust.

My 2019 Husqvarna FE250S dual sport with the same mods and the Reed valve removed from the intake turned into a rocket ship! I guarantee it would have won this drag race.

Throw an ECU and an endcap on the 500 6Days and unlock 16 more wheel horsepower :) the EPA regulations absolutely handicapped that bike in 2017. The 2016 500 put mid 50s to the wheel stock, the 2017 dropped to 39. Let her breathe and you'll see different results.

Unless Kove starts brining in models that are 50 state street legal this bike has a limited market here in the U.S. Also, no models already imported will be able to be grandfathered in. These absolutely cannot be legally rode off road in California on public land. Here in Indiana they can never be licensed for the street and that makes them dirt bikes. Just playing devils advocate.

But nobody rides a corked up 500 because they are absolute turds. Uncorked they are monsters if done right. I have the Taco Moto GET ecu on mine and anyone that rides it is blown away with how fast it is.

I'm glad he made this video and mentioned the corked up 500. When he first reviewed the 500 he went on and on about how his 20 year old DRZ made the same horsepower as his brand new 500, and while that's true, it's a bit misleading. The 500 before the ECU lock in 2017 was putting down mid 50s HP at the wheel bone stock. In 2017 it dropped to 39 HP, the figure he quoted, but you get it back to 55+ at the wheel with an ECU and an endcap, and I think it's good journalism to mention that instead of making it seem like the bike is totally anemic and there's nothing you can do about it.

In the initial review Tyler did, the uncorked KTM 500 smashed the stock Kove 450. However, corked vs corked, the 450 would win.

Here's whats important concerning the bikes in the drag race. The Ktm 500 EXC-F is a 50 state street legal motorcycle. Here in the midwest we have lots of trails and need a plated dual sport to connect them together. Even if the Kove became street legal it would sell poorly here. It's too heavy, we don't need the huge fuel capacity or the rally fairing. All our trails have real dirt and are tree lined single track!

I know you're shilling for the Kove pretty hard, but being fully fueled is *not*, as you say, "kinda like an 80lb disadvantage" lol. Gas weighs ~6lb/gal, so the Kove's probably had a 30-40lb disadvantage for the fuel alone. A good comparison in any case, minus the fluff.

So now when Tyler (and Jimmy Lewis and a score of other accomplished riders) touts the capabilities of this new entrant to the segment -- at an affordable price within reach of many riders who have been clamoring for this type of all-rounder from the majors only to be disappointed year after year -- he's "shilling" for it?
