This video is most truthful I have ever watched. I don't believe any review done by Ian over at Big Rock Moto anymore because he has become an aftermarket parts sales channel. Every bike is great until it's not. Every bike needs a ton of aftermarket parts and of course with affiliate links. Same thing goes for The Dork in the Road. Will the Kove 450 be any good long term? That is for time to tell. I'll stay on the sidelines for now.

I know exactly how you feel! Although there’s no affiliate program where I live and the EU is still behind in certifying this bike Euro 5, I’ve been sticking my neck for this bike since it first showed up on my radar! Before the historic Dakar participation! Even before it was rebranded Kove, from Kolove! If 3 Dakar finishes weren’t enough, even though some never kept raving about bikes like Yamaha that have had 5 out of 5 DNF at Dakar, even with a penalised extra engine swap 3 stages from the end… there’s no logical reasoning behind people’s opinions… 🤷♂️ Your Brutally Honest reviews are legendary and have never led us wrong!!! So just keep doing what you’re doing!! If I could order one from your affiliate link, I would!!! But right now we’re just praying the bloody EU rules don’t forbid another awesome bike, for the sake of the hypocritical saving the environment cause… You rock!!! 💪😎💪

I'm surprised nobody mentioned it. In all it's awesomeness, the Kove 450 remains a very high maintenance bike needing a significant amount of times and parts to keep it in top shape. You must be the kind of owner who likes to spend almost as much times on working on the bike than riding it to really appreciate it. High performance comes with high maintenance, the Kove is no exception. What makes it different is parts availability. Unless you have a dealer with readily available parts in your neighborhood then you may have to miss riding it while waiting for parts.

I am not doubting that the Kove 450 is a very good bike. My problem though is that for a Chinese bike it is priced like a Japanese or an European bike. It is almost the price of a Tenere 700 and I will probably buy the Tenere instead.

@sprocketdiver190 Жыл бұрын
Tenere is more than twice the price in au
@pabloricardodetarragon2649 Жыл бұрын
A Tenere built like a Kove with the same quality of suspensions, frame steel, carbon parts and general equipment would easily cost more than 22000 USD. The Tarres bike is even more expensive. Compare the comparable, the Tenere is a trail for riding gently on easy tracks with cheap 200 mm suspensions you have to change if you're making serious offroad, the Kove is a almost racing rally bike with fully tunable 300 mm suspensions, 30 l tanks, rally tower etc... If you want to compare the Kove, compare it with KTM (the EXC is 13000 USD, if you want to equip as a rally bike you'll have to spend at least 5000 USD more, and the true rally is at 30000 USD), the Fantic 450 rally costs around 17000 USD.
@Angry-Lynx7 ай бұрын
People comparing this with tenere clearly have no idea what they talk about.... Comparison to 690 would make way more sense but still isn't valid. Just like with Kove 800x, this haven't got any competition really, nothing to compare on the market. KTM rally bike cost absurd Money so not comparable too

If it comes with an off road title then your SOL here in Indiana to title it for the street. Take any of these reviews with a grain of salt. Most of these tests, the riders only have the bike for a short time so longevity is an unknown. They also get caught up in the newst/latest/greatest syndrome. It is also really tough to be completely impartial. I watched a review of the new at the time Afrika Twin. The bike they compared it against won every category except street comfort. Which bike they they proclaim as the winner? The Afrika Twin of course. It lost 9 out of ten categories yet, they still picked it. They forgot to mention that they were both Honda fanboys. Remember all the hype over the Ural? Everyone wanted one, turns out it is a POS. They fall apart around you. At this point in time, I'd stay away from this bike for the next year or two. Too many unknowns and what will dealer/warrenty support be like? Who knows? A FB page isn't the answer, all the fanboys will migrate there and you won't get an unbiased perspective.

I guess because the Kove is already 1000$ cheaper before you start to add a rally kit and aftermarket tanks to the Honda
@stevebiron3036 Жыл бұрын
Several reasons...cost is one $10,600 ($9999.+ freight/set up) to start vs. $8799 (with disc code).. Then you absolutely have to uncork the Honda with an ECU system upgrade then buy a pipe to accompany to stop flame outs, herky jerky, power delivery etc.. That alone is another $2000 to $3000. Then add a rally tower and fairing..add another $2500 to $3500. and Bob's your uncle.... no wait... then you need a larger gas tank (2 gal stock vs.just shy of 8gal for Kove) for $400 to $500. and you still only have "half" the capacity of the Kove. Lots more that the Kove has over on the Honda like lack of vibration (or substantially less the Honda, I had one) damper mounted handlebars, TFT screen, real rally foot pegs, bracket for steering damper is stock. Just using the bottom of my estimated $$ your at $17,000 ish. vs. $8799.00.

I trust your opinion but I don’t trust a Chinese bike to get in and out of the middle of no where or take me across the country. Shoot I have a hard time trusting a Ducati or KTM. At first I thought the Kove’s engine was a KTM 450 and after more googling it seems like the engine is totally new and totally Chinese. What happens when you ride 40 miles deep into the desert and this thing inevitably blows up? Hope you have cell service and I hope you have the patience to wait on parts for the engine (if you can even get parts) and I hope you’re mechanically inclined to work on it yourself because most shops won’t even change a tire on a Chinese bike for liability reasons.
