Kozai-Lidov oscillations are a periodic exchange of inclination for eccentricity, usually occurring in a system of 3 bodies orbiting each other. In this case we simulated a binary star system but with an accretion disc around one of the stars, which behaves as the third body. The inclination of the disc with respect to the binary is exchanged for eccentricity in the material orbiting in the disc. The above mechanism can explain why giant outbursts occur in Be/X-ray binary stars.
