All the songs you checked in this videos were written and composed by Soyeon herself, including their debut song (something kinda unheard in the K-pop for both male and female groups). Regarding Soojin's departure, she was accused of bullying during her teenage years by a former school colleague. This accusation turned into a highly publicized scandal, leading to Soojin being judged by netizens before having the opportunity to defend herself. During this time, Cube chose not to renew her contract, which came as a shock to the entire group. They subsequently went on an unofficial break. Shuhua, Yuqi, and Minnie returned to their respective countries. They all went back to their parents homes. Their online presence became minimal, with each appearance marked by heartbreaking moments. Following this hiatus, they released a new album "I Never Die," featuring tracks like "My Bag" and "Villain Dies." The album is a tribute to Soojin, with numerous songs addressing her situation. The overall tone of the album is one of anger, as the members confront their detractors and stand unapologetically as strong minded ppl who will do whatever they want. A bit of each song: - "Latata" - When Cube failed to provide a debut song and continually postponed their comeback, Soyeon took matters into her own hands and created a song for their debut. The song became a major hit, setting a record as the fastest debut song to reach #1 at the time. This success resulted in Soyeon earning a lot of trust from the company, which alowed her to take up as their main producer and songwritter. - "My Bag" - This track is a certified fan favorite. Soyeon wrote it as a response to those who would belittle (G)Idle by referring to them as "Soyeon and friends," implying that she was the sole talent in the group. The song is essentially a bragging anthem about her five diamonds (=her five members, including Soojin), with each verse celebrating that member awesomeness. Subverting all the expectations, it's the members, not Soyeon, who handle all the raps, while Soyeon just sings the chorus, twerks and swags lol. - "Nxde" - You've heard this before, but in this song, "being nude" meansembracing one's authentic self, rather than being objectified for superficial reasons or sexualized, which unfortunately happens often in idol culture and the broader world. - "Lion" - Despite having an MV and being one of the most recognized and beloved (G)Idle songs, "Lion" was technically not a title track. Soyeon wrote it for the reality competition "Queendom," in which girl groups competed in 2019. What's truly remarkable is that in the show you got to witness Soyeon's creative process in real time, as she wrote, composed, conceptualized the music video, choreography, and every intricate detail in it. - "Villain Dies" - This song centers around the narrative of Soojin being cast as the "villain" by the media and public even though she was the one suffering despite being innocent. The song questions who truly played the role of the villain in this story.

Slight addition to ‘I Never Die’, it has been said that this album was supposed to be their last album, because based on how kpop history so far, it would be very hard for any group to come back from a scandal like that. I have a feeling Soyeon especially felt that if they have to go out, they should go out with a bang. Hence, the rawness, sadness, anger of each song in that album. True to its title, they indeed never die, but getting even more popular after that comeback. Fun fact: Soyeon said that Tomboy lyrics was supposed to be even more worse than current approved lyrics which contained s*x on whiskey and curse word. I wonder how bad it is that cube had no choice but to approve current lyrics hahaha.

There is a trilogy of songs "Hann", "Hann (alone in winter)" and "Hwaa" that should be reacted to together as there is an overarching story. The message for lion is really cool, it's a rags to riches type story. In the MV, all the girls start out in rags dancing together, not just Soyeon, but she is the final one you see transform in the individual shots. As the MV goes by, their clothes become richer, showing that they've overcome the prejudice and risen as the lion queens. It's even cooler when you get a chance to listen the instrumentals (one of Soyeon's best instrumental works, gives me chills) and you hear the "Ay-yo" in the background that sounds like some sort of lion dance chant just like what they say they're dancing to, elevates the song so much !!

I really recommend reading the lyrics in my bag. I feel like its one of the most demonstrative of soyeons writing skills in that she was able to write lyrics about each member bragging about themselves in a flow and style that suited each one to show off their unique voices and talents. For instance that uh oh~ part in minnies verse is her talking about how easily enchanted by voice you are and is a reference to latata because thats the first time anyone heard her voice as idle minnie and she does get a lot of attention for that part! Each member is presented like that and there are a lot of inside references about the members brags its really amazing i cant get how her mind works

If you looking for content outside of their discography, soyeons solo album is amazing, yuqi and miyeon also have solo stuff which is really good. Yuqi has quite a few covers which are great. Something which alot of people enjoy watching is the nxde and queencard recording behind videos. Gives you some insight into their working life! Also the queendom performance of lion is so good! If you watch it though find the video with the behind the scenes and performance, as it makes a great story

I mean, Soojin knew she was innocent and the investigation would prove it, why choose to leave right before her name was cleared? And if she left on her own and cube had nothing to do with her departure, why do the remaining members now waste no opportunity to publicly bash cube entertainment? (Also, companies lie to protect themselves from fan backlash, look what yge did with 2NE1, claiming that there were lengthy discussions and together with the group the decision for them to disband was made. Later the truth was revealed, the members weren't involved in any sort of discussions abiut their future. Instead they found out they were disbanding through the news and social media) I have no secret insights, just what I've seen. But based solely on my own two eyes, I can say with utter certainty, that the official story doesn't quite add up.

You can check Soojin's artist of the month it's a masterpiece. Seo Soojin genre was sensual (sexy) dance and it really match to her voice and that's her weapon. Soyeon once said that after soojin left they feel like they loose the main character but look at them now making soojin as their concepts each comeback ❤❤❤

Soyeon is one of the best kpop rappers. periodt Almost all their songs are produced by the groupe (mainly in lyrics & composition, often in arrangement, the producers are Soyeon, Minnie and Yuqi) all their title tracks are produced by Soyeon This is actually Soyeon who knows their voices the best, this is why thzir are so unique, the songs are literally tailored for them, Soyeon knows Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Yuqi and Shuhua voices the best Minnie and Yuqi are killer producers their songs are really really good Miyeon is the best technically in vocal, the most stable during live and the neatest voice Minnie has such an unique dreamy voice Soojin has a heavenly voice, both sexy yet soft, her charisma on stage is only comparable to Soyeon, their are stage stealers Soyeon voice is shard and addictive Yuqi has such a natural low tone, all members are trained with voval teachers to keep their natural tone while singing (asked by Soyeon) Yuqi deep voice while singing is her natural beautiful husky voice Shuhua is known having a chameleon voice, between Minnie, Miyeon and Soojin voice, but her voice is actually between soft high pitch and soft low pitch, she is less trained than the rest of the members so it took some time to reach her beautiful singing signature she can reach now

Some scenes were references to Marilyn Monroe and Banksy in Nxde, Although idk a lot about Banksy. When you see the little animated women in the corset at the start in Soyeon's rap/Verse 1, she talks about the woman although having seductive looks, she is a book worm regardless of her being "sexy" and the animated woman sat reading "grass of leaves" or so, which you can also see the same book in Marilyn Monroes hands in a photo taken of her. It's just to mock the men who think women are just for their looks, and it doesn't matter if they have dreams, intelligence etc. Also with the genius idea to have their song pop up when anyone searches nude.

No, she didn't do the plastic surgery. She just wasn't remembering that she had met Minnie the day before and went out with them. She imagined herself as Minnie, and felt so confident that it made her attractive. All the shots in the beginning of Minnie, are actually Soyeon (she even sings the parts), and in the end it's where we realise it. The shots change and suddenly it's Soyeon there instead of Minnie. And when she wakes up the next morning and gets the message, is where she remembers the night before and that how she looks doesn't matter, it's how she FEELS.

I revisited the song and mv because when I first reacted to it, i didn't know any of the members or anything about (G)I-DLE. Now that I'm more familiar, i thought it would be nice to revisit a song I haven't heard since I reacted to it I could've done that on my own time, but even now people have given me more information about the song I didn't get before. So i learned more about it even on the 2nd watch

Man, you have GOT to quit reacting to videos on 1theK. They are straight-up content thieves! They steal views (and therefore, money) from the original artists without giving any credits and they RARELY have subtitles. They also deliver STRIKES on reaction channels (over stuff that is not even THEIR OWN content). They are just plain full of shit. That channel should have been removed from YT a LONG time ago for all of their shady bullshit.
